Growing up in a musical family, Sam began singing in church at the age of five. By the time he was ten, Sam was already penning his own lyrics. Inspired by his sister who played the piano, he taught himself to play guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Sam was born a natural singer without any formal vocal coaching. His father, also a singer, is a big influence.
Sam draws his influences from such greats as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Eric Clapton, and Gavin DeGraw. He enjoys performing anything acoustic that has soul and is fond of rock, pop, soul, blues, jazz, and country music.
Sam has recently co-written with Jeff Scott Soto (former lead singer of the legendary rock band Journey, Talisman, Soul SirkUS, Yngwie Malmsteen). A few songs are to be released on Jeff’s new solo CD. This is what Jeff had to say about Sam: “Bro, you are the freshest new artist out there. I will be telling the world about you and if there is anything I can do to help you along, rest assured I will. People need to hear Sam Grow. You will be a superstar my friend!”
Sam has also performed with Grammy award winner Kanye West, Kat Parsons, one of the highest selling independent artists in the US, and national touring artist singer/songwriter/pianist Dave Yaden (Marc Broussard, Josh Kelley, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson).
Sam’s latest release “Ignition” is an infusion of Rock, Pop, and Soul that creates an enticing, new listening experience sure to satisfy the ear of a wide range audience. The first cut, “Oh So Jaded”, has become a crowd favorite. “Work in Progress”, Sam’s first CD release, is a five song EP full of Sam’s soulful, bluesy sound. The single “Meant to Be” was the featured track of the day on September 28, 2006 on GarageBand.com and the song peaked at 4.8 out of 5 stars.
This is just the start of Sam’s promising career and he has already started a buzz among the industry.

Friday night just lettin′ loose
1-0-3's, holey jeans, fitted hats with biker rings
It′s what I'm 'bout, ain′t from around the city
Little roughed up, yeah, I′m poor boy pretty
If you like your longnecks blue
Raisin′ hell, that's what we do
Cornbread fed, born and bred
Bust our ass ′til our necks all red
And we stand for that flag, yeah
If you can't respect that
Then you can kiss my ass
Roll up smoke, fishin′ holes
Country girls on old dirt roads
Muddy grips, dips in lips
Stand our ground, don't take no shit
It's what I′m ′bout, ain't from around the city
Little roughed up, yeah, I′m poor boy pretty
If you like your longnecks blue
I'm like you
Raisin′ hell, that's what we do
Cornbread fed, born and bred
Bust our ass ′til our necks all red
And we stand for that flag, yeah
If you can't respect that
Then you can kiss my ass
Yeah, you can kiss my ass
If you like your longnecks blue
I'm like you
Raisin′ hell, that′s what we do
Cornbread fed, born and bred
Bust our ass 'til our necks all red
And we stand for that flag, yeah
If you can′t respect that
Then you can kiss my ass
Kiss my ass
Yeah, you can kiss my ass
"Kiss My Ass" by Sam Grow is a country song that celebrates the down-home, hardworking, and patriotic lifestyle of rural Americans. The lyrics use imagery and language that are common among country folks to convey the message of the song. In the first verse, Grow paints a picture of a typical Friday night for him and his friends: Skoal tattoos, 103's (likely a reference to a specific type of beer), holey jeans, fitted hats with biker rings. He then goes on to describe his identity as being "little roughed up" and "poor boy pretty" - a phrase that implies he may not have much money, but he's still proud of who he is.
The chorus of the song is a defiant statement of patriotism and self-respect, telling anyone who disrespects the American flag or the country, in general, to "kiss my ass." The second verse reinforces this sentiment with more imagery of rural life, such as fishing holes and country girls on old dirt roads. Grow emphasizes the value of hard work, telling us that he and his friends "bust our ass 'til our necks all red." He ends the song by repeating the chorus, once again proclaiming that anyone who can't respect his way of life can "kiss my ass."
Overall, "Kiss My Ass" is a celebration of rural American culture and a call to respect it. The song speaks to those who may feel overlooked or disrespected because of where they come from or the way they live their lives. It's a message of pride and self-worth, reminding listeners that they are valuable and deserving of respect no matter what others may think.

@zacharyking9899
It really touched my heart when he said “born in bread” that hit close to home
@aspendeck
i believe the lyrics are "born and bred" rather than "born in bread," as from a lyrical perspective, "cornbread fed, born in bread" would be weird (with the two breads in the sentence).
