Growing up in a musical family, Sam began singing in church at the age of five. By the time he was ten, Sam was already penning his own lyrics. Inspired by his sister who played the piano, he taught himself to play guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Sam was born a natural singer without any formal vocal coaching. His father, also a singer, is a big influence.
Sam draws his influences from such greats as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Eric Clapton, and Gavin DeGraw. He enjoys performing anything acoustic that has soul and is fond of rock, pop, soul, blues, jazz, and country music.
Sam has recently co-written with Jeff Scott Soto (former lead singer of the legendary rock band Journey, Talisman, Soul SirkUS, Yngwie Malmsteen). A few songs are to be released on Jeff’s new solo CD. This is what Jeff had to say about Sam: “Bro, you are the freshest new artist out there. I will be telling the world about you and if there is anything I can do to help you along, rest assured I will. People need to hear Sam Grow. You will be a superstar my friend!”
Sam has also performed with Grammy award winner Kanye West, Kat Parsons, one of the highest selling independent artists in the US, and national touring artist singer/songwriter/pianist Dave Yaden (Marc Broussard, Josh Kelley, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson).
Sam’s latest release “Ignition” is an infusion of Rock, Pop, and Soul that creates an enticing, new listening experience sure to satisfy the ear of a wide range audience. The first cut, “Oh So Jaded”, has become a crowd favorite. “Work in Progress”, Sam’s first CD release, is a five song EP full of Sam’s soulful, bluesy sound. The single “Meant to Be” was the featured track of the day on September 28, 2006 on GarageBand.com and the song peaked at 4.8 out of 5 stars.
This is just the start of Sam’s promising career and he has already started a buzz among the industry.
Maybe

Maybe you really got going, you ain't alone, got everything you're wanting
Maybe we ain't really meant to be
Maybe things were really how they should be
Yeah, you let me go
And maybe you gave up
Don't give a fuck and you truly hate me
And you'll get them babies
Maybe you live out your mama's dream
Maybe you ain't even missing me
Yeah, you let me go
Here in my mind I'm still that guy that you're wanting
And here in my head you're in this bed, still feeling something
Here we're still holding on
No, we ain't really done
It's still me and you
You could have somebody new
But maybe you don't want to
Maybe you feel like me, incomplete like something's missing
Compare every touch back to us, no matter who you're kissing
Maybe we just quit too fast
Maybe we were really meant to last
Shouldn't let me go
'Cause here in my mind I'm still that guy that you're wanting
And here in my head you're in this bed, still feeling something
Here we're still holding on
No, we ain't really done
It's still me and you
Yeah, you could have somebody new
But maybe you don't want to
Yeah, yeah
Here in my mind I'm still that guy that you're wanting
Here in my head you're in this bed, still feeling something
Here we're still holding on
No, we ain't really done
It's still me and you
Yeah, you could have somebody new
But maybe you don't want to
Yeah, maybe you don't want to
Maybe you don't want to
The song "Maybe" by Sam Grow is a powerful ballad that explores the uncertainties and lingering feelings that arise after a relationship ends. The first verse contemplates the possibility that the ex has moved on and found everything they could want in life, while the second verse considers the possibility that they are in the same position as the singer - incomplete and missing something. Despite these uncertainties, the chorus expresses a persistent hope that the relationship isn't truly over and that there is a chance for them to rekindle their connection.
Throughout "Maybe," the lyrics express a sense of longing and a desire to hold onto past feelings and memories. The singer is unable to let go of the idea that they are still meant to be with their ex, even though they are no longer together. The repeated refrain of "maybe" highlights the uncertainty and possibility that still exists between them, emphasizing the bittersweetness of the situation.
Overall, "Maybe" is a poignant and relatable song that captures the complex emotions that arise after a breakup. It speaks to the universal experience of holding onto the hope of a rekindled relationship, despite the odds.
