Born & raised in the Bay Area, the 24-year-old artist grew up on a healthy diet of ‘90s and ‘00s R&B/pop including Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child and Justin Timberlake, among others.
Samaria’s early interest in music caught the attention of her late grandmother who offered incentives for good grades like piano lessons & Nickelodeon auditions to encourage her granddaughter to pursue a career in the performing arts field.
When her grandmother passed, the then 14-year-old spiraled into depression and stopped showing up to school, resulting in her almost flunking her freshman year. Eventually she took the encouragement to heart by beginning to write music that evolved into posting originals and a popular Drake remix on her SoundCloud by the time she was a high school junior. Buzz from her tracks led to a working relationship with a prominent West Coast producer with whom she linked up with to produce her debut EP “The Story of Right Now”.
Incorporating clever word-play songwriting..the last couple of years have seen Samaria's release standout singles like “Foolish,” an atmospheric, meditative wave of self-reflection, and the lovesick, early ‘00s-influenced “Shy Girl,” an anthem for catching your crush’s attention when you’re a natural introvert.

She was goin' through it when you met her, otherwise, you'd never get time
So bold, oh
Doin' everything that you could just to fuck her over
All on yourself
Talkin' so big, nigga, you should feel lucky
(Shoulda kept it to myself, you don't deserve it)
You should feel lucky
You should feel lucky
(Made me feel like I could never be a sure thing)
You should feel lucky
(Made me feel like I could never be a sure thing)
You should feel lucky
I know exactly what you doin' when you get it like that
You tryna get me coming right on back
You tryna throw me right off my track
Then leave me guessin' why you don't call back
Leave me wonderin' why you do me like that
Oh woah
Chasing me down, 'cause you know on the low
That you'll never, ever, never get this back
Now you walking 'round town head down
Your bad, shoulda thought about that
Ooh, shoulda thought about that
Oh, got you comin' right back
All on yourself
Talkin' so big, nigga, you should feel lucky
You should feel lucky
(Shoulda kept it to myself, you don't deserve it)
You should feel lucky
You should feel lucky
(Made me feel like I could never be a sure thing)
You should feel lucky
(Made me feel like I could never be a sure thing)
You should feel lucky
I know exactly what you doin' when you get it like that
You tryna get me coming right on back
You tryna throw me right off my track
Then leave me guessin' why you don't call back
Leave me wonderin' why you do me like that
Oh woah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
(I know exactly what you doin' when you get it like that)
Breaking down
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I do better when you ain't around
(You tryna get me coming right on back)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I do better when you ain't around
(You tryna throw me right off my track)
(Then leave me guessin' why you don't call back)
