Read Full Bio ↴Sambassadeur is a Swedish indie pop band signed to Labrador Records.
Sambassadeur from Göteborg started out in the small town of Skövde in the autumn 2003 where Joachim, Daniel P, and Anna found themselves studying. The three sambassadeurs got together as they found out that their taste in music were quite the same. The band of Sambassadeur began one night at Joachim’s small apartment where Daniel and Joachim had got together for recording a song. Despite the fact that they were too shy to even look at each other when first playing their songs, the short session resulted in the recording of the song “There you go”.
Later that autumn, Daniel T, a friend of Joachim from Göteborg, joined the band and the days of searching for a bass player were over. After realizing the band having three shows coming up in the spring, Sambassadeur decided to actually start rehearsing. The first show took place at Klubb Mono at Bommens Salonger in Göteborg, and afterwards the band realized their line up with three guitars, one bass, two singers and a CD taking care of the beats actually was working. Now all of the sambassadeurs are living in Göteborg and after releasing two cd-r´s on their own and a 7” single at Dolores recordings, they have found their home on Labrador.

A place to go when people say you're way too blue
If you wanna go you must keep them from knowing
Loneliness is something you're accustomed to
When you're all alone and on your own
Looking for a way to take you home
When you close your eyes and drift away
What's written in sand disappears in the rain
We'll never show, we'll never know how close you came
It's turning to rust and it's turning to gold
I still believe and I believe what I have been told
When you take your boat out to sea
You must read the signs carefully
When you solitaire far away
Feel it calling you at the break of day
I happen to know where the tail wind is blowing
A place to go when people say you're way too blue
If you wanna go you must keep them from knowing
Loneliness is something you're accustomed to
When you're all alone and on your own
Looking for a way to take you home
When you close your eyes and drift away
Nothing we can do to make you stay
I don't care how it happened
I always have time for an old friend
I just have to know you're coming back again
The lyrics of Sambassadeur's song "Days" convey a sense of loneliness and searching for a place to belong. The singer speaks of knowing where the "tailwind" is blowing, a metaphor for knowing where to find comfort and solace when feeling down. They suggest that loneliness is something the singer has become accustomed to, leading them to seek out this place of comfort. However, it is important to keep this place a secret from others who may judge or misunderstand.
The lyrics also touch on the idea that sometimes it can feel like nothing can make someone stay when they are feeling lost. The line "when you close your eyes and drift away, nothing we can do to make you stay" speaks to this sentiment. The singer acknowledges that it can be difficult to know how to help someone who is struggling and may feel helpless.
The final section of the song expresses a sense of hope and longing for connection. The singer speaks of always having time for an old friend and wanting to know they will come back again. This shows a desire for community and a sense of belonging, even in the face of loneliness.
Overall, "Days" captures a feeling of searching for a sense of belonging and being comfortable in one's own skin, while also acknowledging the difficulty of finding that connection and staying grounded in oneself.
