Tell me something
Don't say that it's nothing
You're all over the place
Can you say my name
Say my name
Say my name
You been on my bumper
Now you acting
Like I'm buggin
You betta
Say my name
I ain't for the game
You got five seconds
For I drop you
Like it's nothing
Say my name
Say my name
Say my name
Say my name
Baby
Say my name
Say my name
Guys love Yo Gotti
They love to flex at the parties
They love to mess with emotions
Then they always go running
That's why I avoid commitment
I've developed trust issues
Thinking that you was different
Baby boy was I slipping
I tripped and fell into my feelings
That wasn't the mission
We was supposed to be chillin
Yeah
That's how it always happens
Now you acting green
What's that supposed to mean
Barely speaking to me
I will keep it pushing if you don't
Say my name
Say my name
Why you acting strange
You been on my bumper
Now you acting
Like I'm buggin
You betta
Say my name
I ain't for the game
You got five seconds
For I drop you
Like it's nothing
Say my name
Say my name
Say my name
Say my name
Baby
Say my name

Now you can't speak
That boy got nothing to say
I try to check in with you
Cuz it's been a whole day
With no call or no text
But you been all on the net
I don't like how you moving
Baby boy don't forget
That once upon a time
We were strangers
You're in danger
Of being nothing to me again
I thought that this was different

Now I'm wondering
Should I stay
Say my name
Say my name
Why you acting strange
You been on my bumper
Now you acting
Like I'm buggin
You betta

You got five seconds
For I drop you
Like it's nothing
Say my name

Don't say that it's nothing
You're all over the place

Why you being weird babe
Why you can't you
Just say my name

In the song "Hidden Bonus Track" by Sammie, the lyrics revolve around the frustration and confusion the singer feels in a relationship where the partner is distant and uncommunicative. The opening lines, "Tell me something, don't say that it's nothing," express the desire for the partner to open up and share their thoughts and feelings. The repetition of "Say my name" emphasizes the singer's need for recognition and validation from their partner.
The lyrics indicate that the singer feels ignored and neglected by their partner, who was previously interested and attentive. The lines "You been on my bumper, now you acting like I'm buggin" suggest that the partner was initially pursuing the singer but has suddenly become distant and disinterested. The singer demands their partner to acknowledge them and express their intentions, warning that they have a limited opportunity before the singer walks away.
The second paragraph delves into the singer's emotional turmoil and distrust caused by past experiences. The lines "That's why I avoid commitment, I've developed trust issues" reveal that the singer has been hurt in the past and struggles to fully trust their current partner. They express disappointment in thinking the partner was different and feeling like they fell into a trap of catching feelings when they were supposed to be casual.
As the song progresses, the frustration intensifies as the singer confronts their partner's lack of communication and their excessive use of social media. The lyrics imply that the partner has been active online but neglectful of the relationship, leaving the singer feeling unimportant and questioning their commitment. The lines "Now you can't speak, that boy got nothing to say, I don't like how you're moving" convey the singer's disappointment and frustration with their partner's actions.
In the final paragraph, the singer is torn between wanting to salvage the relationship and considering the possibility of leaving. The line "Should I stay" reflects their internal struggle and uncertainty. The repeated urge to "Say my name" continues to emphasize the singer's need for recognition and communication. The song ends with a plea for the partner to speak up and address the issues in the relationship.
Overall, the lyrics of "Hidden Bonus Track" showcase the frustrations, confusion, and emotional rollercoaster experienced in a troubled relationship where communication and commitment are lacking. The singer's longing for their partner's recognition and the desire for open and honest communication are central themes in the song.
