Rererenti`s songs were recorded for the first time on a demo tape,back in 1999.Their originality drew attention of one of the music publishing houses,but for a very short time,because the lyrics of their songs were characterized as `too dangerous` for the political situation in Serbia.The whole deal about recording and publishing their first album went bust.In spite of it all,Referenti released videos for the songs `Ne razumeju` ,`Ludilo`,`Toreador` and `Rocksteady`,and they started playing more and more gigs.
`Samostalni Referenti` have played with numerous famous bands,such as:NBG and Atheist Rap from Serbia,Elvis Jackson from Slovenia,Bluekilla from Germany,and they have also performed live on many local festivals like `EXIT`,`Skaville` and Belgrade `Beerfest`.Their music is attractive not only in Serbia,where they regulary have gigs,but also abroad.Their fans from Slovakia enjoyed skanking live on severeal concerts they have held so far.
After 16 years of playing `underground`,hundreds of gigs and no official releases,Referenti finally finished recording of their first album,which can be foud on MTV Adria internet site,and can be downloaded for free.A video was also filmed for the song `Zivot je san`.
The album is called `The GreaTESTIS Hits`,and it had been recorded for almost 4 years,in the Belgrade `Underground` studio.There are 19 songs which give us insight into their work of the last 15 years.
