He ran his own drama school in Walden, New York and wrote a short play Radio Days about the era when people listened to radio like they watch T.V. today. The play features different bits of music and excerpts from various musicals. But this play was mainly written as a didactic play for child actors. He also wrote a Shakespearian style play called Love's Labor, a historical fiction play about Shakespeare's own life and how he began down his path of tragic works after losing his son Hamlet.
Wright passed away at the age of 74.

Wake up and face the morning sun
Let the sunlight open your eyes
Got to realize your time has come
To arise, arise
Wake up and face the morning sun
Let the sunlight open your eyes
Got to realize your time has come
In the morning
Everything arise in the morning
Got to realize in the morning
Got to realize it′s a new day
And when the shadows moving in the night
Fade away with the morning light
And when the shadows moving in the night
Fade away with the morning light
You'll arise, arise
Wake up and face the morning sun
Let the sunlight open your eyes
Got to realize your time has come
To arise, arise
Wake up and face the morning sun
Let the sunlight open your eyes
Got to realize your time has come
In the morning
Everything arise in the morning
Got to realize in the morning
Got to realize it′s a new day
Now the fish, he mention when the sea get rough
He say, "When the going gets tough
Yeah, you got to show your stuff"
You know he really don't bluff
Arise, arise
Wake up and face the morning sun
Let the sunlight open your eyes
Got to realize your time has come
To arise, arise
Wake up and face the morning sun
Let the sunlight open your eyes
Got to realize your time has come
To arise
In the morning
Everything arise in the morning
Got to realize in the morning
Got to realize it's a new day
And when the shadows moving in the night
Fade away with the morning light
And when the shadows moving in the night
Fade away with the morning light
You′ll arise, arise
Wake up and face the morning sun
Let the sunlight open your eyes (arise, arise)
Got to realize your time has come
(Arise, arise) oh, the cows are rising
The dogs are rising
The little fishies are rising (arise, arise)
The birds are rising...
The lyrics of Samuel E. Wright's song Arise are an uplifting call to action to awaken to the possibilities of a new day. The repeated refrain 'Arise, arise/ Wake up and face the morning sun/ Let the sunlight open your eyes/ Got to realize your time has come' is an encouragement to the listener to embrace the new day with renewed energy and a sense of purpose. The song is a celebration of the power of renewal and transformation that can come with the start of a new day.
The lyrics also contain a reference to the natural world, with the fish mentioned as saying 'When the going gets tough/ Yeah, you got to show your stuff'. This echoes the idea that all living beings face challenges and adversity, but it is through rising to these challenges that we can truly discover our strength and potential. The inclusion of the phrase 'Got to realize in the morning/ Got to realize it's a new day' emphasizes the importance of being mindful and present in the moment, and not allowing negative thoughts or feelings from the past to hold us back.
Overall, the lyrics of Arise are a powerful reminder that each new day presents an opportunity to embrace our potential and rise to our own challenges. It is a song that inspires hope, confidence, and a sense of renewal.
