Sara received her Bachelor of Science degree in History and English in 1994 from Evangel University, a private Christian university in Springfield, Missouri. Sara spent four years teaching high school in Rosemount, Minnesota before recording her first album, Past the Wishing, in 1998. Since then, she has released five more albums and appeared on several others (see below). Sara has been nominated for 3 Dove Awards including "New Artist of the Year" in 2002 and "Special Event Album of the Year 2003" by the Gospel Music Association. She was named one of the best Christian music artists of 2005 and the album, Add to the Beauty, was named "Album of the Year" for 2005 by CCM Magazine. In 2009 Fireflies & Songs earned enough votes from a panel of ten music critics to be named Christianity Today's Album of the Year. The magazine explained their choice: "Already known for her transparent songwriting, Sara Groves gets even more piercingly honest on this, her ninth album. Whether her relationship with God, marital tension, or a private battle with anxiety, it's poetically spilled forth in Groves' call for the church to 'live confessionally.' And paired with less poppy, stripped-down arrangements, her achingly clear vocal remains front and center. This is vintage Groves—yet more herself than ever."
Just One More Thing

There's always another task
There's always I just have one more small favor to ask
And everything is urgent and everything is now
I wonder what would really happen if I stopped somehow
I'll be there in a minute
Just a few places to go
You wake up a few years later and your kids are grown
But everything is not
At the end of your life your relationships are all you're got
And love to me is when you put down that one more thing and say
I've got something better to do
And love to me is when you walk out on that one more thing and say
Nothing will come between me and you
Not even one more thing
There will never be an end to
The request upon your time
It's your place to stand up and tell the world
You've got to rest awhile
And everything is important
But everything is not
At the end of your life your relationships are all you've got
And love to me is when you put down that one more thing and say
I've got something better to do
And love to me is when you walk out on that one more thing and say
Nothing will come between me and you
Not even one more thing
The lyrics of "Just One More Thing" by Sara Groves address the constant demands and pressures of daily life that can put a strain on our relationships. The song highlights the feeling of always having "just one more thing" to do, whether it's a task or a small favor, and how that can impede on our ability to connect with the people who matter most. The urgency and immediacy of everything in our lives is expressed, and the idea that we may wake up one day to find that time has passed us by and our children have grown up too quickly. The message is clear: even though everything may seem important, not everything is truly essential, and at the end of our lives, it's our relationships that we will cherish the most.
The song also touches on the idea of love and how it can be expressed by prioritizing our relationships over our tasks and burdens. Love is seen as putting down that "one more thing" and saying that we have something better to do, which is to focus on the people who are important to us. Love is also seen as walking away from that one more thing and saying that nothing will come between us and the people we love. The lyrics invite us to examine our own lives and priorities and to strive to make our relationships the top priority, even amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.

Thanks for the commentary, I think the line by line suffers a little - clearly Sara is a believer in Jesus Christ and that is what means so much to her, whereas the line by line interpretation "dumbs it down" to "my faith and religious beliefs". The line by line even mentions "my truth" which is moral relativism (see a Tim Keller sermon or talk on idolatry). Just because a believer in Christ expresses uncertainty or vulnerability does not mean that they are abandoning their faith!!!!!! In this the line by line commentary does a disservice to the song. Nevertheless I appreciated the overall meaning comments.
