Something More
Sara K. Lyrics

Well, folks, what more could I say that somebody hasn't said yet?
just had to get it out. I get this picture of all these people in windows, looking
out. On we road, in buildings, homes, caves... boats... searching for the town crier, Who's hiding under a tree.

I've joined the ranks of many now, fed into the system
now I feed the dragon and the dragon's feeding me.
They tell you tales of kings and queens and devils in the details
victims and the chosen ones and Jesus wannabes.
They make us do things, they want to rule us and keep us wanting
nothing more.

I don't want my memory hammered in some tombstone
weathered by a dust-storm, wishing it would rain.
But they would bleed these rivers
dry all across this desert land
where there's a cactus blooms at night
you can't touch with your hands.
They make us do things, they want to rule us and keep us wanting
nothing more.

Corporates and politicians running gates on everything
not even the kings and queens rule that marketplace
they put up walls around their houses,
make it look like us & them
watch it from their living rooms and run the human race.
They make us do things, they want to rule us and keep us wanting
nothing more.

Make you want to tell somebody, tell 'em when you dance and sing
tell em when the light turns green you do not hesitate,
How much yellow 'fore the red starts,
How much orange between the lines
How much will they take from us to make us money blind.

They make us do things, they want to rule us and keep us wanting
something more.

Overall Meaning

Sara K.'s song Something More is an introspective piece that explores the idea of conformity, control, and the need for something more in life. The singer expresses her frustration with the system that governs people's lives, how they are made to do things, and how they are kept wanting nothing more. The song uses imagery, metaphors, and symbolism to convey the singer's message. For instance, the picture of people in windows looking out represents people who feel trapped in their lives and long for something more. The dragon she mentions represents the system that feeds on people, and the tales of kings and queens and Jesus wannabes represent the propaganda that the system feeds people to keep them content.

The singer talks about how even the kings and queens have to answer to the corporates and politicians who run the marketplace. She describes how they put up walls and watch the human race from their living rooms. This paints an image of the ruling elite who control everything and have no regard for the common person.

Ultimately, the song is a call to action, urging people to tell somebody, to dance and sing and not hesitate when the light turns green. The singer wants people to break free from the system that controls and rules their lives and find something more significant.
