Brink Of Destruction
Sarah McLachlan Lyrics

Your warmth and your words found a place in my world and breathed new life in
We come from the brink of destruction
We gathered ourselves from the floor
We tried and we suffered and finally recovered
And found a new way to live
We're two side by side with impossible dreams
Storms come I learned to be strong
I don't lean on anyone else
But now I am so content here in your arms
I don't want to be anywhere else
With you I'm home, with you I'm home
I hold fast to my destination,
I know that the road will be long
We light up the sky let the beauty define us and give,
Give it all we got
We're two side by side with impossible dreams
Taking a chance to let love in
Storms come, I learned to be strong
I don't lean on anyone else
But now I'm so content here in your arms
I don't want to be anywhere else
With you I'm home, with you I'm home
La da da da, la da da da, la da da da da
The lyrics of Sarah McLachlan's song Brink of Destruction are about the hope and strength that can be found in a loving relationship. The singer is acknowledging that life can be difficult and that everyone goes through struggles, but that by coming together and supporting one another, we can overcome those challenges. The first verse expresses the desire for things to be wonderful, but recognizes that success is not always guaranteed. However, the warmth and words of the singer's partner have brought new life into her world.
The chorus talks about how the relationship has given the singer strength and helped her recover from past struggles. The lines "We come from the brink of destruction / We gathered ourselves from the floor" convey the sense of resilience and determination that is needed to overcome adversity. The two partners have impossible dreams, but they take a chance on love and find a new way to live. The next verse talks about how the singer has learned to be strong and not rely on others, but now feels content and at home in her partner's arms.
The song ends with a repetition of the line "With you I'm home" and some nonsense syllables. This emphasizes the importance of the relationship and the sense of comfort and belonging that the singer feels with her partner.
Overall, Brink of Destruction is a song about the power of love to heal and bring people together, even in the darkest of times.
