Find Your Voice

The pay is cheap, the lines are long, and, oh
I can't get a live voice on the phone
Everyone's in such a rush
No time to stop and enjoy the hush
Of a quiet word
To let you know you're not alone
Oh, it would be such a lovely road
If we could walk together
Let's find our voice
Shout it from the inside
Let's make a choice
To be the change we want to see
And all rejoice
To find the good in everyone
Shine a light for all to see
In peace and harmony
Merry Christmas
It's the season to be kind
But it feels like I'm walking on land mines
Just a step away from bringing on disaster
Everywhere the pressure builds
The years of galore, the guilt and tears
And, oh, just waiting for the dawn to break
Oh, it would be such a lovely road
If we could walk together
Let's find our voice
Shout it from the inside
Let's make a choice
To be the change we want to see
And all rejoice
To find the good in everyone
Shine a light for all to see
In peace and harmony
(Merry Christmas)
Merry Christmas
Peace and harmony
(Merry Christmas)
Merry Christmas
Shine for all to see
(Merry Christmas)
Merry Christmas
Peace and harmony

"Find Your Voice" by Sarah McLachlan is a song that addresses the challenges and pressures of our modern society. The opening lyrics depict a world that is trying to bring us down, where people are caught in a rat race, and it is difficult to connect with others on a genuine level. The lines about not being able to get a live voice on the phone emphasize the impersonal nature of communication in this fast-paced world.
McLachlan then suggests that if we could all come together and walk the road of life as one, it would be a beautiful journey. By finding our voice and speaking up for what we believe in, we can make a positive change and create a better world for everyone. The lyrics encourage us to choose to be the change we want to see and to find the good in others. The phrase "shine a light for all to see" suggests that by spreading love, peace, and harmony, we can illuminate the darkness that surrounds us.
The mention of "Merry Christmas" at the end of the song adds a festive touch and highlights the importance of kindness and compassion, especially during the holiday season. It serves as a reminder that the values of peace and harmony should be embraced and shared all year round.
Overall, "Find Your Voice" is a call to action, urging listeners to break free from the pressures of society, find their voice, and contribute to a more compassionate and harmonious world.

Wow! Sarah, I first fell in love with you as a little boy on Long Island listening to Vox on WLIR. I've loved you through the years and always enjoyed seeing you in concert when I can. Today with this song you renewed my faith in mankind; after what has happened in CT we in the America so needed this song from you and the students from your School of Music. Thank you and God Bless you! Merry Christmas! Vinnie
