However, her ex reaches out via text, asking to come over, and the singer is tempted to give in to the temptation. She addresses the thought of seeing her ex again and how they always leave her crying in the end. Despite the mixed emotions, the singer acknowledges how far she has come and how it would be a long way to revert to her old ways.
The first verse describes the singer's success in not bringing up their partner at a party, "Made it through a whole party last night, And I think I only brought you up twice." I was literally driving to see my ex, who called me to see him, in the middle of the night and listening to this song. On my way back home, I was crying. It isn’t worth going. Let go of him.
