There is more than one artist with this name:
1) Savoy is an electronic trio based in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Made up by Ben Eberdt, Gray Smith and Mike Kelly, the band has played all over the United States. Their MySpace is http://www.myspace.com/savoyband, their official site at http://www.savoyband.com
2) Savoy is a Norwegian-American rock trio consisting of Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (famous from Norwegian hit machine a-ha) (vocals/guitars/bass/keyboards), Lauren Savoy (vocals/guitars) and Frode Unneland (drums/percussion/vocals).
The band has released 5 albums to date. Savoy, unlike Waaktaar-Savoy's other band a-ha, has a certain down-to-earth indie rock approach.
All songs are composed by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy with his wife Lauren Savoy. Lauren herself is known as a film maker and has, amongst other things, directed both a-ha and Savoy music videos. Frode Unneland is one of Norway's best drummers known from the Bergen music scene as drummer with Chocolate Overdose and Popium. He has also drummed for Norwegian pop sensation Sondre Lerche.
3) Savoy is a German emo band.
4) Savoy, a Romanian band, active during the Communist regime and sponsored by the Union of Young Communists. It was supposed to be the rival of dissident rock bands like Phoenix and Sfinx, it got a lot of media support. Jokes about the leader of the band concern his cheap imitation of the Dire Straits vestimentation and garments. Savoy sounded more folky and progressive rather than hard or heavy.
Someone Else

And someone else's too
Someday you'll find
I've been a friend to you
I don't believe that life's worth living
I gave you all there was worth giving
You never cared how I fared or what I do
I called you mine, but I was not to blame
For all the time you played up to hand and game
Second-hand love I can't see
It's good for some, but not for me
You can't be mine and someone else's too
Oh, I called you mine, but I was not to blame
For all the time you played up to hand and game
Second-hand love I can't see
It's good for some, but not for me
Oh, you can't be mine and someone else's too
No, you can't be mine and someone else's too
The song "Someone Else" by Savoy is a track that explores the complexity of relationships and heartbreak. The lyrics describe a situation where the singer is enduring the pain of knowing the person they love is seeing someone else, and they cannot seem to find a way to have them all to themselves. The lines "You can't be mine and someone else's too/Someday you'll find I've been a friend to you" convey the message that the singer cannot tolerate sharing their lover with anyone else, but at the same time, they will still be there for them as a friend if needed, even if it hurts them.
The second verse describes how futile the relationship feels to the singer, believing that life is not worth living if they cannot have the person they deeply love entirely. The singer feels like they have given everything they have to the relationship and is frustrated that their lover does not care as much. The lines "You never cared how I fared or what I do/ I called you mine, but I was not to blame" show how the singer felt like they were only one invested in the relationship, and their efforts were not reciprocated.
In summary, the song "Someone Else" by Savoy expresses the anguish of being in love with someone you cannot have entirely and shares the reality of love and relationships. Despite the heartbreak, the song also acknowledges that sometimes being friends is the only option left to move on and heal.
