Brněnská thrash metalová formace Sax se dala dohromady v roce 1985, kdy v českých zemích ještě vládl bolševik. Sestava se kolem kytaristy/zpěváka Luboše Kozdery ustálila a v roce 1989. Sax nahrávají první demo s výstižným názvem "With Satan in the Body". O rok později následuje druhý demáč "Zone of Fear". V roce 1991 vydávají Sax u Monitoru první album "Zóna strachu". Deset poctivých thrash metalových sypaček definitivně zařazují Sax do tuzemské thrash metalové elity. Po dalším demu "Thrash of Moravia" nahrává kapela v roce 1993 druhou desku "Moravské nářez". Výborné, kultovní album se však stalo labutí písní téhle brněnské party. Ještě v roce 1992 poslednímu počinu předchází album "Válka nervů". Tentokrát již však pod názvem Sax Piják bez Kozdery v sestavě. Posledním zápisem kapely Sax na scéně je vydání kompilačky v roce 2009, kde Sax shrnují svou tvorbu.
