Saybia plays alternative rock in the vein of bands like Coldplay and Athlete, their tracks have anthemic and melodic charachter and depth added with Søren Huss' world class vocal - Huss has in recent years established a solo career, singing in danish language, and with a slight change of musical style, leaving the future of Saybia to the unknown, but they have not split up.
They released three EPs before signing to EMI in the spring of 2001, after which they started working on their debut album The Second You Sleep. When this album was finished, the band started touring through Europe. In 2003, the band was about to break up. After recognizing this, the five bandmembers bought an old house on a Swedish island, renovated it and turned it into a studio. Saybia spent months on this island and wrote and recorded a lot of songs for These Are the Days, which was released in 2004. In 2007 they performed "Eyes on the highway" with their new album on studio with the first single "Angel" recorded in their own place first time for months. The band split up and played their last gig at 6 november 2008 at Pumpehuset.
In 2011 and 2012 they played concerts again.
Saybia is a nameplay on the cymbal manufacturer "Sabian", which is Palle's brand of choice.

Guardian Angel
Saybia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
the laughter and the joy
do you remember?
Do you remember?
driving in our car
do you remember?
swimming in that lake
just the five of us
Guardian angel left us bleeding
Guardian angel left us screaming
Guardian angel?
Do you remember?
fireworks by the sea
Do you remember?
the exact time we went dry on gasoline
just the five of us
against the rest of the world
Guardian angel left us bleeding
Guardian angel left us screaming
Guardian angel?
Do you remember?
The lyrics to Saybia's song "Guardian Angel" speak of the memories of the past, the laughter, the joy, and the strong bond between friends. The singer asks if the listener remembers driving in their car and swimming in a lake, just the five of them against the rest of the world. However, the lyrics take a somber turn as the singer mentions how their "Guardian Angel" left them bleeding and screaming. The mention of fireworks by the sea and running out of gasoline serves to highlight the good times in the past and how the bond between the friends was unbreakable. The repeated question, "Guardian angel?" serves to express the singer's confusion and desperation in trying to understand why their protector left them to suffer.
The lyrics to "Guardian Angel" can be interpreted as a reflection of how life is full of ups and downs, good times and bad, and how the bonds between friends can be tested. The mention of the guardian angel leaving them bleeding and screaming can also be seen as a metaphor for how life can take a turn for the worse, even with the best of intentions, leaving us feeling alone and vulnerable. The song's message is one of reminiscence and acknowledgement of the good times, while acknowledging that life is not always easy and asking the question of why bad things happen to good people.

Great band. Great song. I'm glad to be one of "the only" people that knows about this amazing band.
@StFuzz
Chilling vocal intro. Loved the progression into the melody, and the driving percussion; once every instrument finds its place I love listening to it be deconstructed in the denouement of the song. What a marvelous example of the power of arrangement.
