Recording as Akshen, he began his career recording solo for Rap-A-Lot Records, a local label in Houston, Texas. In the late 1980s, he joined the Geto Boys as they were forming and released We Can't Be Stopped, a highly successful LP that garnered the Geto Boys a large fanbase, in spite of their ultra-violent lyrics keeping them far from radio and MTV. Akshen changed his name to Scarface (he even changed his flow from a rapid-fire Kool G Rap-like delivery to normal flow, this time with a darker tone), after the film Scarface, saying he felt that the main character of the movie was just like him in many ways. Scarface soon released his debut solo album, Mr. Scarface Is Back. The album was a success, and Scarface's popularity soon overshadowed the other Geto Boys.
Scarface left the group and released a series of solo albums that kept him in the public view in spite of decreasing sales. He turned this around with 2000's Last of a Dying Breed, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews and sales, and earned him Lyricist of the Year at the Source Awards. In 2002 he released The Fix, the critically acclaimed follow up to Last of a Dying Breed. In 2007 he released Made which overall recieved very positive reviews.

And when the smoke dies down its still a nigga left to deal wit
This motherfucker standing one deep solo
Exercising parts of the game but don't know
I bring it to a motherfucker full throttle
And any motherfucker want pain I brought the full bottle
Now take ya two of these and call me in the morning
Three times point blank range with no warning
And every motherfucker involved gon' face drama
Punk I ain't no motherfucker rapping in song
You bust your caps when you rap
But I bust back at your dome bitch
And this is always all day killa
And bitches who be stressing me out I get rid of
I'm still a guerrilla in these goddamn streets
Walking up on motherfuckers and leaving 'em sleep
(Cause if you gonna ride then we can ride)
But 99.9 of the times you gon' die
(Die motherfucker die motherfucker die)
Motherfuckers crowding my space they gon' die
I can't believe you hoes is playing with this
But since you motherfuckers want drama I'll bring you this shit
I got my dime down cocked and shined
Just a homie from the hood
Had the paper still I'm bout to grind
What you thought this was nigga some studio gimmick
A motherfucker talking that shit but couldn't spend it-shit
I come around this motherfucker bending beads
And dare one of you hoes to come and fuck with me
I'm real with it I'll warn you motherfuckers again
That if you step to me with ho shit I'm turning you in
Shocked-and shot with five holes in your memory
And when you headed for hell you gon' remember me
The one MC who told you niggas once
And after that he gave no warning he straight done him- punk
I got my mind all made up to go off
When bitches start to threaten my life I go off
Take a walk on the wild side
And all the coloreds go whoop whoop
When I come down in my coupe
And motherfuckers hating me come give it a try
But 99.9 of the times you gon' die
With no warning
Dealing with the killer with the strap out
No warning, then
All of a sudden homie blacks out
With no warning
And now your dealing with your outer body energy
All the pain you left in your life you still feeling me
Everybody living must have thought it would change
But living fast and dying young's a part of the game
How can one spit the game so sure
Turned around and emptied his than
With no warning
In Scarface's "No Warning," the artist proclaims that he remains a real gangster, capable of dealing with his enemies with a brutal force he calls "full throttle." He advises his opponents to take note of his lyrical threats when they cross him, warning them of the consequences of their actions. Scarface is serious about his message and claims that he's not a studio creation, but rather a natural-born killer from the hood. His rhymes, which include references to death, hell, and pain, are meant to intimidate any potential rivals. It's no surprise that Scarface remains a revered figure in the gangsta rap scene, given his matter-of-fact, unwavering approach to the genre.

The Untouchable is best rap album I've ever heard. Not one weak song, every single track is a banger. And it's also the most cohesive album you'll ever hear. It's perfection. That and 8ball & MJG's On Top of the World are the CD's I would buy out the store over and over again no matter how many times they got damaged or stolen
