There are a handful of renditions of this heartbreaking song but I think this is the best. Ms. Callaway has a beautifully clear delivery. This song puts me at the moment that my partner, Gregg, was passing away. It's almost as if Mr. Alan was in that hospital room gleaning the energy and emotions I was feeling at that moment in time. I think Mr. Allen may have had a similar experience to be able to capture the seminal essence of the loss of a loved one and compose a song that is so true.
