(Shout Out to Toomp man)
(A Town)
(Yeah)
Nigga tryna put a couple K in my grill piece and just smile on em
Puff told em don't follow dese niggas trends man switch the style on em
Too real for this rap shit these industry niggas wild homie
Keep a blunt lit tryna ease stress situations just pile on me
Fukk em all, let me share sumn gotta fam to feed I can't play wit it
Lotta niccas came in poppin they fell off but I stayed witit
Gave niggas real lemons mane I swear I made lemonade witit
Niccas thought I was running office had da stupid crazy campaign witit
Ballin off and on
Niccas tired of dat, niccas tryna be
Balling everyday
Weed and lots of drank
Crazy stupid high
Let the money flow, like a river do, problems to the sky
Smoke em to the sky…

I go up, I go up
Boy I ain't playin witit, i do my thang witit
I go up, I go up
Take me high up in the sky, let my problems float away

Take me high up in the sky, let my problems float away

Boo told me I was talking last night in my sleep bout the payback
All I remember had a drop top impala and a maybach
Wheels cost bouta fortune mane im the black version pat sayjack
Smoking good at the outkast concert nicca bring the A back
Shawty thick like pasta, rolling blunts like the rasta
Took her back to mi casa, real niccas my roster
Non believers do ya research, run the game til feet hurt
RIP to my lost ones, on my heart and my tee shirt

Ballin off and on
Niccas tired of dat, niccas tryna be
Balling everyday
Weed and lots of drank
Crazy stupid high
Let the money flow, like a river do, problems to the sky
Smoke em to the sky…

I go up, I go up
Boy I ain't playin witit, i do my thang witit
I go up, I go up
Take me high up in the sky, let my problems float away

I go up, I go up
Boy I ain't playin witit, i do my thang witit
I go up, I go up
Take me high up in the sky, let my problems float away

I GO UP

Overall Meaning

In Scotty ATL's "Cloud IX," the rapper opens by shouting out to Toomp, indicating that he has produced the track. From there, the lyrics delve into Scotty's thoughts and experiences in the music industry. He touches on the absurdity of some artists trying to buy their way into the game with flashy grill pieces. Puffy apparently advised him to "switch the style on em," but Scotty prides himself on being too real for such trends. He smokes to try and ease the stress of the industry's wildness and keep his mind at ease.

Scotty continues to explain that he has had to make some tough but necessary choices to survive in the game. He won't let anyone mess with his family's wellbeing, and he has witnessed plenty of artists who have fallen off despite starting off hot. Nevertheless, he has remained loyal to his roots and made the best of his setbacks. He has turned lemons into lemonade, metaphorically speaking, and kept up a "crazy stupid high" to let the money flow and his problems float away.

@BrianFahrnow

Scotty atl, you seriously brought so much inspiration to the hip hop community with this song in my opinion. This song was just so well produced and written. That it can't help but make me smile knowing there is still artists out there making hits like these that are way under rated and should be at the top of the charts compared too some of these lame, ghost written, and over produced songs coming out today, and that's the cold hard truth. This song goes so hard and always puts me in a great mood when I hear it, for that.... thank you @Scotty ATL and keep making amazing hits like these! Btw... This track gives me that old west coast vibe when rap was killin it with artist who i wish I'd come back once more like Dr Dre.
