The Screaming Orphans are the four Diver sisters from Bundoran, Co. Donegal, Ireland. They have carved a great reputation of being a captivating and entertaining live band in Europe and America combining their own original pop/rock music with the Céilí tradition style of music that was inherited from their family roots. From an early age, the Diver sisters performed with their mother Kathleen Fitzgerald (a well-known céilí singer in Ireland) and when they hit their teenage years, they formed their own pop/rock band, the Screaming Orphans, which led to a signing by Warner Music UK.
As the Screaming Orphans, the band first came to prominence when Sinéad O’Connor asked them to tour with her as her back up vocalists and opening act. The band has gone on to tour and play extensively across America and Europe. Their musical reputation has led to collaborations on recordings with Baaba Maal, Afro Celt Sound System, Peter Gabriel and Joni Mitchell.
While the sisters can never forget their roots, the Screaming Orphans rich repertoire of their original pop/rock songs with catchy melodies has absorbed many influences over the years. Their wide and varied sound has been compared to such artists as ABBA, the Cranberries and The Chieftains. The band is also renowned for their trademark spine-tingling four part harmony.
As of this year, the band has released 10 albums of both original pop/rock and traditional Irish music. The Screaming Orphans split their time between New York City and Donegal, Ireland.

Give A Little
Screaming Orphans Lyrics

Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
Give a little
Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
You say
I am changing
Maybe I feel the same
Today, today
I don't sleep much
What does it do to you
Here's something you can do
Give a little
Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
Give a little
Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
‘Cause all I want is
For us to make it
Back like we had yesterday
I'm a blond
You like a read head
Smoke it up
I know you dread it
Too bad, too bad
Coffee is black
I like it whiter
Turn your back
I try to smile but
Too late, too late
I don't laugh much
What does it do to you
Here's something you can do
Give a little
Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
Give a little
Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
‘Cause all I want is
For us to make it
Back like we had yesterday
Give a little
Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
Give a little
Give a little
Give a little bit of your love
‘Cause all I want is
For us to make it
Back like we had yesterday
In Give a Little by Screaming Orphans, the singer is asking for a small gesture of love from their partner in order to reignite the love they once had in their relationship. The lyrics suggest that there has been a change in the relationship that is causing distancing between them, and they want to go back to how things were in the past when they were happy together. The lines “Do you wanna walk away // Maybe I feel the same // Today, today” indicate the fact that the relationship may be falling apart and there is uncertainty about where things are headed.
The verses contrast the two people in the relationship, highlighting their differences in their preferences for hair color, coffee, and smoking. These differences may seem trivial but they also indicate how incompatible the two people might be. The line “Too late, too late // I don't laugh much // What does it do to you // Here's something you can do” is a plea for the partner to try and make the singer feel happy again by giving a little bit of their love.
Overall, Give a Little is an honest and vulnerable request for the partner to make an effort in the relationship and to not let it fall apart. The lyrics are relatable to anyone who has been in a troubled relationship and highlights the importance of making an effort to keep the love alive.
