He didn't know when to stop
He said "maybe we'll see some action tonight from that bitch"
But he was wrong
She's the Automatic Rejector
He came up behind her and started grabbing her tits
See his hands and his mouth pulled the same kind of shit
She said "why don't you suck on this"
She's the Automatic Rejector
The lyrics to Screeching Weasel's song Automatic Rejector speak to the experience of sexual assault and dealing with perpetrators who think they can get away with it. The first stanza describes a guy who talks big and makes macho comments about a woman, but ultimately ends up being rejected by her. The character in the song is referred to as an "automatic rejector" because he has a tendency to be rejected by women due to his inappropriate behavior.
In the second stanza, the song takes a more ominous turn, as the same guy who was making crude comments earlier is now assaulting the woman. She responds by pulling out a gun and threatening him with it. The phrase "why don't you suck on this" has become somewhat of a catchphrase from the song and is often used to describe women standing up for themselves against sexual assault.
Overall, Automatic Rejector is a powerful and unapologetic statement about the realities of sexual assault and the importance of standing up against it. The song, released in 1988, has become somewhat of an anthem for punk rock and feminist communities alike.
