Later Career
The first notable member of the Click to pass away would be Fat Pat in 1998. This would have a big effect on Screw and the whole Click. And then Screw himself would pass in 2000 which sent shockwaves through Texas. After that the North and the South combined and the power of music prevailed. Songs like "Sittin' Sidewayz", "Sippin' On Some Sizzurp", "Still Tippin'", "Swang", "So Thowed" and "I'm A G" introduced the southern style of hip hop to the entire globe and Houston music had taken over the stratosphere. The Soldiers United 4 Cash DVD was produced sometime around 2000/2002 as the CD sountrack came out much later. This shows Screw chopping up on the decks, aswell as gives interviews and has music videos from the whole Click.
In later years all of the members of the Click would continue to grind and release music - including the Straight Wreckin' Vols. 1 and 2 mixtapes in 2004/2005 which feature all of the Click going back to back on classic hip hop beats and a chopped and screwed bonus disc; as well as Making History in 2005, hosted by Thug Dirt. It wasn't until 2014 though when their album The Take Over would finally hit the streets. The name had been in the wind since 2006 when it was first announced but took so long to finally drop. It would feature Bun B, Chris Ward, and Killa Kyleon, as well as a host of original SUC members including Big Moe, Mr. 3-2, Mike D, Trae, Z-Ro, Lil' Keke, Lil' Flip, Will Lean, H.A.W.K. Lil' O and Big Pokey.
Many compilations would be released as four volumes of the "Flows From The Lost Grey Tapes" series, mixes from the legendary Screw Tapes.
The most active members in the most recent years would include Z-Ro, Lil' KeKe, E.S.G., Lil' Flip, C-Note, Grace & LOS. Many continue to do features. South Park Coalition affiliate K-Rino, a legend in his own name without a doubt, hosts his own radio station where he interviews many members of the S.U.C. along with other figures in the hip hop scene of Texas.
Members
DJ Screw was the central figure of the Houston rap scene. His innovation included the trademark technique of slowing down the basic tracks of a cut when he remixed it. This process is called "screwing" a song becoming Screwed and Chopped. During the early '90s, he invited some of Houston's most renowned rappers from the southside of the city to flow on his Screw tapes. This eventually led to the formation of the Screwed Up Click.
Fat Pat was a rapper from Houston, Texas and an original member of DJ Screw's Screwed Up Click. Also known as Mr. Fat Pat and P-A-T, he was most prolific in the mid-1990's alongside his brother Big Hawk and longtime friend Lil' Keke. Fat Pat was signed to Wreckshop Records.
Big Hawk or H.A.W.K was a rapper from Houston, Texas. He became Screwed Up Click when his brother Fat Pat coaxed him to join, hence leaving his insurance company which was his 9-5 job. He was respected in the Houston underground rap scene and appeared on numerous mixtapes from artists such as Paul Wall, Lil' Flip, Z-Ro, E.S.G., Lil' Keke and Big Pokey. After Screw's death in 2000, he was the main person responsible for keeping the S.U.C. together, so much so that his nickname was the Five Star General of the Screwed Up Click.
Al-D is a southern rapper from Houston, Texas. He joined the southern hip-hop group Screwed Up Click with his brother, the late DJ Screw, who was the founder of the Screwed Up Click. He has done many mixtapes with the Screwed Up Click and other rappers from the south.
Mr. 3-2 is a rapper based out of Houston, Texas. While signed to Rap-A-Lot Records he was involved with two groups, The Convicts and Blac Monks, and released one solo album. After leaving Rap-A-Lot, 3-2 released albums on N'yo Face and Street Game Records. He has collaborated on tracks with UGK, Scarface, 8 Ball & MJG, Lil' Keke & Too Short. He has heavily participated in the Screwed and Chopped movement.
Southside Playaz is a Southern hip-hop group created Screwed Up Click members Fat Pat and Mike D. who were longtime friends. Before Fat Pats death he was able to create a lot of tracks with Mike D which are still featured on the new Southside Playaz cds to this day.
Big Moe, from Houston, Texas became one of the first to break out of Texas and go national. Unlike most of the Houston rappers, who tended to offer a hardcore style, Moe offered a much more accessible one. He both rapped and sang, and his producers crafted smooth, melodic tracks that bounced along at a leisurely pace. Plus, he precisely balanced the fine line between the underground and mainstream. Moe's songs were often street-themed, with intoxicants being a prime theme; yet they were simultaneously radio-friendly and hook-laden, with his breakthrough single, "Purple Stuff," being a perfect example.
Big Pokey, from Houston, Texas and is one of the more accomplished members of the Screwed Up Click. Big Pokey hooked up with DJ Screw in the early '90s and started dropping rhymes on the DJ's many mixtapes. His first full-length album finally appeared in late 1999, "Hardest Pit in the Litter", which ended up being one of the better underground hip hop albums to come out of the South that year.
Dat Boy Grace is one of the original members of Screwed Up Click where he and his brother LOS developed a long time friendship with DJ Screw. He is currently incarcerated in Mississippi for a felony gun charge where he will be serving a 65 month sentence.
Lil' Keke, from Houston, Texas is an emcee and member of the Screwed Up Click, and former member of the Herchelwood Hardheadz(also S.U.C.), Lil' Keke proved himself to be one of the collective's strongest artists, strongly aligning himself with the city's underground rap don of the south. Not only by appearing on countless "Screwed" DJ mixes but also a seemingly endless number of other albums to come out of the South, he also became one of Houston's most visible rappers, releasing solo albums for Jam Down Entertainment. Lil' Keke has become a well known rapper in Houston and continues to record albums annually. He is now signed with Swishahouse Records.
E.S.G. from Houston, Texas who trailblazed through the late-'90s movement and helped popularize the "Screwed and Chopped" which was created by DJ Screw and a style associated with his onetime home, Wreckshop Records. He is also known for static between him and Lil' Flip, for the claim of "Freestyle King," which was eventually resolved.
Lil' O is a southern rapper, born in Lagos, Nigeria to African parents and raised in Southwest Houston, Texas.[1] He is an original member of [DJ Screw's Screwed Up Click. He was also known as O or Da Fat Rat Wit Da Cheeze. He dropped his debut album in 2000 "Blood Money" that garnered him major down south hits like the "Playa's Get Choose" and "Rags to Riches", the album sold over 30,000 copies independentlly.[2] Many albums later, his album "Da Fat Rat With The Cheeze" sold in high numbers.[3] He collaborated with Big Hawk on the hit single "Back Back". "Back Back" led him back to a nationwide deal with Atlantic Records, which he later left in 2003.[4]
Big Jut is a rapper from Houston, Texas associated with the Screwed Up Click. He released Screwed Up Fo Life in 2004 featuring Lil' Keke, Big Pokey, Ronnie Spencer, Kazy D, Beltway 8, C-Note, Black Mike and others.
Z-Ro was raised in the Ridgemont 4 Neighborhood on the Southside of Houston. He has embraced his inclusion in the Screwed Up Click, as an honor and even proclaimed so brashly on one of his album Screwed Up Click. Z-Ro's first solo release, Look What You Did to Me, was described by Murder Dog magazine in 1998 as a "ground-breaking record" and a "masterpiece". Interestingly, that first album regularly sold for over $100 on online auction site eBay, before its recent re-release. 1999 saw the release of the equally lauded Rise by the Guerilla Maab, a group Z-Ro formed with his cousin Trae, and brother Dougie-D.
Trae a southern rapper gained a name on the Houston Rap scene when he was featured on Z-Ro's album Look What You Did to Me. He co-founded the rap group Guerilla Maab which featured his cousin Z-Ro and his brother Dougie D. Trae's trademark is a low deep voice while utilising a fast flow, somewhat reminiscent of Flesh-N-Bone and Z-Ro in the sense multiple vocal layers are often mixed into verses, yet different because Trae does not always use a fast flow or multiple layers and is much more understandable than Flesh-N-Bone.
Later Members
Lil' Flip is known for his unique freestyling style and for becoming one of the first Houston rap artists to become mainstream and nationally known. He was discovered by DJ Screw and was quickly influenced to rap at freestyle battles in order to gain respect in his Cloverland neighborhood, he was given the title of "Freestyle King" by the late DJ Screw. Flip was last addition to the S.U.C. before Dj Screw tragically passed away. Lil' Flip is also closely associated with fellow members, the Botany Boys (C-Note, D-Red & Will-Lean) because they are the Clover G's.
Big Mello gained a name on the Houston Rap in 1992 with the album "Bone Hard Zaggin" on the Rap-A-Lot Records label. Those who encountered Big Mello's deep Texas sound compared him to favorably to Scarface or Z-Ro, but Rap-a-Lot never found the right way to package Mello and soon he was on to other labels.
Yungstar grew up on the west side of Houston, Texas and began rapping at age ten. In the early 1990s, he began working with DenDen, CEO of Straight Profit Records. He first gained attention freestyling over tapes made by DJ Screw and emerged nationally with a guest appearance on Lil' Troy's "Wanna Be a Baller.

That's from Texas fuck with O, to find you in a lake
So back up lil' daddy, you don't want no problems
Cause swisha sweet boys, don't revolve 'em evolve 'em
And any gangsta situation, guns'll solve 'em
So get your mind right, before you lose your noggin
See I ain't really going, for that ducking and dodging
That pushing and rassling, that weaving and bobbing
I just throw on a mask, like I'm Batman and Robin
And let the thang loose, and watch boys start jogging
You know how I do, man y'all see me mobbing
Broad on the right side, slurping and slobbing
Haters mean mugging, like we gotta rob 'em
I mean mug 'em right back, like is it a problem

Now anyway Bun B can bring it, it's bout to be brought
Any way that you can catch it, fool it's bout to be caught

You bought mo' than you can pay fo', now you got's to lay low
Kick do' to your mama house, pistol to your bay' bro
You think we came to play no, absolutely not
So tell me how to find your brother house, 'fore you get shot
You gave up all the game, and still got smacked with that pistol
The streets is screaming, the gangsta is back and official
They ask him what he love the most, bet he say a hater
Getting hit up with that heat, till he shake like a vibrator
And my state'd be the first, to lead the charge
That'll forward you bullets, off in your house and garage
Cause we them boys, that put the fire to the flame
Burn it down like Baghdad say fool, charge it to the game
(Hook)

I don't fuck with the law, that got my dogs on lock
So this one for T-Bird, Mano, Baby and Brah
All that I got talk, I take what ya got
Since Mississippi Burning, see we play with that fire
True I stay with that fire, from the club to them streets

Back up, what's up - 8x
The song "Back Up" is a Screwed Up Click collaboration between Lil' O, Bun B, and Benz. The song's hook warns to back up from fake, broke, or hating individuals. Lil' O starts the verses by asserting his authenticity and warning others not to take food off of his plate. He also emphasizes the importance of a "thang" to solve gangsta situations. Bun B's verse reinforces the message of the hook by specifying that lessons need to be taught and haters need to get shot. He also describes how they can find someone's brother's house before they get shot. Benz brings it home by paying homage to those who are locked up and emphasizing the importance of money-making. He also cautions against talking tough and lying about being a thug before bringing up Mississippi, Louisiana, T.S., and T.A.
