作詞:石田小吉 作曲:石田小吉
Day after day 微睡みの昼下がり
Time arter time 憂鬱の漂う部屋
笑みを忘れてみた いっそこのまま思い出さずに
何を憂いてる?と また呟く長い瞬き
Day after day 微睡みの昼下がり
Time after time つま弾く優しいメロディ
笑みを忘れていた 果てなく押し寄せる涙が
何を思い出せる? 弦と弓と長いトレモロ
Day after day 日暮れまで微睡んでを
Time after time 街をまた見下ろした
Day after day 繰り返す無限の時
Time after time いつかまた帰る日まで
The song "Day after day" by Scudelia Electro talks about the melancholic moments that we all go through in life. The lyrics begin by describing a "drowsy afternoon" where the room is filled with a sense of gloominess. The singer confesses to having forgotten how to smile and wonders what it is that is causing him to feel sad. The long blink of an eye makes the moment even more poignant, as if trying to hold back tears.
The second verse continues with the same theme of forgetfulness and loss, describing how the tears keep coming, incessantly, and the singer cannot remember what it is that he has forgotten. The melody of the song is gentle and soothing, as if trying to uplift the mood. The bridge highlights the use of string instruments with long tremolo notes that add to the emotional tone of the song.
The chorus repeats the same words, as if caught in an endless cycle of melancholia. The singer falls asleep until the evening, staring out of the window watching the city below. The song ends with a sense of hope, that someday the singer will return to this place and time, after he has found what he has lost.
