I travel to Seattle for the Rams at Seahawks game when Russell got his finger injury and was pull out of the game then GENO came in.

It was also a birthday present from my mom and dad that they were going to give me a trip to Seattle to watch a football game of the Seahawks.

When I was at game and came into the stadium and touch the first step of the stairs I was so excited to see the field and it was so cool. I sometimes I feel all this was fake but when you see in real life it’s real place here in the country.

the 12s were chanting so loud at Stafford and Rams D-Fence and that best part of the game.

It was a greatest moment that I had ever witnessed in my life and I can’t wait for more games in Seattle.

As a soccer fan who follows MLS more than the NFL, the fact that the Seahawks essentially just gave you tickets to the Sounders game really opened my eyes to just how massive of a community Seattle sports fans are. It seems like every team and fanbase in Seattle is interlocked with each other, and is there to stand up for each other whenever it’s needed.

It really explains how the Seahawks, Sounders, Kraken, and Mariners draw incredible attendance figures, no matter how bad the team is, and no matter how “small” the sport is.

I appreciate the sentiment here but it's really not true that the Mariners draw incredible attendance figures when the team is bad. They haven't been top 10 in MLB attendance since 2004 and most of that time they've been in the bottom half. But can you blame them? A 21-year playoff drought will have that effect pretty much anywhere. The Mariners certainly draw a lot of fans when they are good (see 2001, when they led the league in wins and attendance).

This is not a knock on the Seattle sports community at all. It's great.

P.S. I wish the Sounders had their own stadium and played on real grass.

I have been a fan of the Hawks since the Dave Craig days, and a Mariners fan since the Alvin Davis days. I was a Sonics fan until they day they left. That day, basketball was dead to me. I have yet to watch a single game since. I would love to watch a Sonics game again.

If you're a 12, are you resenting the decision to pass instead of hand off to Marshawn? Marshawn made me a Seahawks fan. And in the biggest moment ever, he saw Russ throw a pick. They were SO close to two championships! And they never got close again. Russ just wasn't who made them champs one year. He's shown it every year since.

It sucks that the play ended in a pick, but from a clock management standpoint it makes sense. You have only 1 timeout left with ~30 seconds on the clock. 106 passes were attempted from the 1-yard line in the regular season that year and 0 attempts were intercepted. If you run the ball and Skittles doesn’t make it in you have to burn your timeout and essentially third down becomes a down where you HAVE to pass. It was about preserving the timeout and ensuring four quality shots at the end zone.

My big critique is that they should’ve called a boot right instead of a quick timing dart. I’ve seen with my own two eyes Russ make magic between the lines and to not use his legs on a rollout still is head scratching.

Apologies if it’s TL;DR. I just always feel like with how reactionary sports media and enjoyment is, it’s fun to try and breakdown the analytics and game management of sports. Much love from the 12’s. 💙💚

In 2018 I took a job in Seattle (Renton specifically) for a year. As a rams fan, I went to the Rams@Seattle game that year. It was amazing, Seahawks fans were more than gracious and competitive trash talking in a friendly and respectful way.
I cheered for the rams on big plays, and I nodded and gave credit to the Seahawks when they made good plays as well saying things like “ok you got that one but it’s not over!”

You’re not kidding about the 12th man and the noise of the crowd. At one point in the 3rd quarter while the Seahawks fans erupted over a big play, I looked up and saw a plane at low level coming for a landing near by.

Key word is “saw the plane” I did not hear it. That is how loud it was, drowning out a commercial airliner just overhead. And by last call at the end of the 3rd quarter with the game on the line me and a Seahawks fan bought each other one last beer.

I'm so glad I was able to meet Tom and Johnny at the fan event. Rushed as it was since they both needed to make it to the Sounders game, I was still able to personally make a donation to St. Jude to Tom, and gifted both Tom and Johnny beer from the local brewery I work at. (Tom really loved and appreciated the beer gift.) But more than that, as a 49ers fan in enemy territory, the comradery with every fan there. Seahawks, Packers and others, it was wonderful interacting with them all. And I would do it again in a heart beat. What Tom and Johnny are doing is bringing out the best in all of us. I wish I'd remembered to mention that to you in Seattle, but given you were pressed for time, I figure it's just as well I save it for here when I have time to offer a coherent message of thanks.

I ended up going to the Sounders match as well & saw many of the things you did but you having the inside track to give them proper context was awesome. The Portland Timbers Army can only hope to be able to vote in their GM after all the recent scandals involving a former Timbers player & Thorns coach.

I wish my giants was playing there this season. I always wanted to go to Seattle for the underrated sports environment they got there and just the beauty of the Pacific Northwest from the ocean to mountain.

I really appreciate that you were so kind in referring to Seahawks fans and the city of Seattle despite your understandable feelings about the Seahawks. As a Seahawks fan, I feel the same way about the Packers. I always dread when we play them because they beat us so often.
