Big Guns
Sebastian Bach Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She was a ballerina on a subway train.
Stiletto heels and a candy cane.
Looked like a number on a station wall,
Hot on the tail of a social call.
I wet my lips I thought I had it made.
Like Valentino with a hand grenade.
I made my move with my libido on.
She circled once and then she dropped the bomb.

She got the big guns, pointed at my heart,
Bang bang shooting like a firing squad.
Big guns, She blew me away
And I went down in flames

I met a sidewalk preacher on a roller-skate.
He said he had the key to heaven′s gate.
I'll wait for the movie ′cause I been there before"
And learned: like is a battle and love is war

She got the big guns, pointed at my heart,
Bang bang shooting like a firing squad
Big guns, Took me by surprise,
She got my lovin' reachin' for the sky.

She got the big guns, pointed at my heart,
Bang bang shooting like a firing squad,
Big guns, She blew me away,
And I went down in flames.

I′m doing time as a back seat Romeo.
Play solitaire with my hands in the air,
Another night and no bullets to spare.

She got the big guns, Pointed at my heart,
Bang bang shooting like a firing squad.
Big guns, she blew me away and I went down, down, down in flames
Big guns, (big guns), (big guns)

Big guns, big guns She really really got the big guns.
She shot me, and I went down in flames.

Overall Meaning

In this song, Sebastian Bach talks about two different encounters he had with different women. In the first verse, he describes a ballerina who he sees on a subway train. She is wearing stiletto heels and carrying a candy cane, which makes her stand out in the crowd. Sebastian is immediately attracted to her and tries to make a move on her, but she ends up rejecting him, revealing she's not interested in him. The second encounter is with a sidewalk preacher on roller-skates who tells him he holds the key to heaven's gate. Sebastian is not interested in talking to him, saying he'll wait for the movie because he's been there before. In the chorus, Sebastian talks about how the first woman had the "big guns" pointed at his heart and blew him away, leaving him in flames.

The phrase "big guns" is a metaphor for the woman's charisma, sex appeal, and allure. The woman in the first encounter is so captivating that Sebastian is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. He sees her as having power over him, which he likens to being shot by a firing squad. The chorus repeats the phrase "big guns" and emphasizes how the woman has shot him down and left him in flames. The second encounter seems to be imparting some life lessons on Sebastian, as he learns that love is a battle and he must be prepared to fight for it.

Sebastian Bach is Awesome

BangTango

Cmon Skid Row, bring Bach Sebastian now! It would be one of the greatest reunions in hard rock history. We have all said it for such a long time, the fans demands a reunion, we love both bach and skid, but get together again and we will go bananas for sure.

Carrie Ann Luikens that is the problem in a nutshell, they cannot cope with they need him but he does not need them. They may have written the music but he made the music famous

too true

Sure it would be cool, but Sebastian doesn't need Skid Row. He is doing well on his own, and in fact I believe it was his destiny to go out on his own anyway. He is too big of a talent and personality to just be in only one band. Besides Skid Row was a self-contained unit before Sebastian came along. They were a very good hard rock-metal band but they were actually very lucky to have shot to any kind of notoriety or stardom due to Sebastian's singing and performance abilities.

They need to bring back Bach and original Drummer Rob Afusso. Id love to see that. Seeing as though Tony Harnell did not work out I see no reason why they couldnt try to patch things up with Bach.
