Ohhh
Ohhh
Yea
Lock me up
I know you told me you the only one you trust
No I can't help it if sometimes that I mess up
I lose my way, I make mistakes, I care too much
I know you told me you the only one you trust
No I can't help it if sometimes that I mess up
I lose my way, I make mistakes, I care too much
But I'm a felon when it comes to love
Yes girl I know that it was you that brought me through it
When I was down and out and thought I couldn't do it
I was confused and didn't know what I was losing
I never saw myself to be the one abusing
I put my all in this but you just couldn't see it
I said it wasn't that, but you didn't believe it
I'm reminiscing now, I'm picking up the pieces
Nooo
Woah, woah, woah
Lock me up, lock me up, lock me up now
Lock me up, lock me up, lock me up now
Lock me up, lock me up, lock me up now
Nooo
All the times we had
All the love we shared
Wish you knew by now
All this time I cared
All the hurt I caused
No it wasn't fair
But you know how I feel for you
Lock me up
I know you told me you the only one you trust
No I can't help it if sometimes that I mess up
I lose my way, I make mistakes, I care too much
But I'm a felon when it comes to love
I know you told me you the only one you trust
No I can't help it if sometimes that I mess up
I lose my way, I make mistakes, I care too much
But I'm a felon when it comes to love
Baby I hope you know that no man here is perfect
And girl I hope you know that this man here is learning
I know the things that you'd endure would keep you burning
But if you ride this out with me it'll be worth it
Give it time lil' baby we gone keep on growing
Make you mine lil' baby we gone keep on glowing
See it through lil' baby we can keep this going
Nooo
Nah, nah
All the times we had
All the love we shared
Wish you knew by now
All this time I cared
All the hurt I caused
No it wasn't fair
But you know how I feel for you
Lock me up
I know you told me you the only one you trust
No I can't help it if sometimes that I mess up
I lose my way, I make mistakes, I care too much
But I'm a felon when it comes to love
I know you told me you the only one you trust
No I can't help it if sometimes that I mess up
I lose my way, I make mistakes, I care too much
But I'm a felon when it comes to love
The lyrics of "Bonus Track" by Second-Chance delve into themes of love, trust, mistakes, and redemption. The song opens with a plea to be locked up, possibly symbolizing a desire to be held accountable for past errors. The repetition of "lock me up" suggests a willingness to face consequences and take responsibility for one's actions. The singer acknowledges their tendency to mess up and lose their way in relationships, portraying themselves as a "felon when it comes to love." This could imply feeling guilty or convicting themselves of causing harm in romantic partnerships.
The lyrics also touch on a sense of betrayal and disappointment in oneself for not being able to live up to their partner's trust. Despite caring deeply, the singer reflects on the mistakes they've made and the hurt they've caused, admitting that their actions were not fair. There's a longing for their partner to understand the depth of their emotions and the sincerity of their feelings, emphasizing the internal struggle of wanting to do right by their loved one but continuously falling short.
The verse switches to a more hopeful tone as the singer expresses gratitude for their partner's support during tough times and acknowledges their own growth and self-awareness. They recognize their imperfections and reassure their loved one that they are committed to improving and making amends. The lyrics suggest a desire for a second chance, a chance to prove themselves and show that they are capable of change and growth in the relationship.
Overall, "Bonus Track" conveys a complex mix of regret, longing, and determination. It speaks to the universal experience of messing up in love, feeling inadequate, and yearning for forgiveness and understanding. The repetition of phrases like "lock me up" and "I care too much" underscores the intensity of emotions and the singer's plea for acceptance and redemption in the face of their flaws. The song ultimately captures the complexities of human relationships and the ongoing struggle to navigate love, trust, and self-improvement.
