Night cafe
Secret Service Lyrics

The harmonica's begging in a silent way
Are they're here to stay at the night café
The kid in the corner gets up and leaves
But she orders coffee, the aroma-glisse
Waiting for the date at the night café
She asks for the sugar then smoking on
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
The guy in the raincoat is crying again
The cab driver's swearing that he's not to blame
None is on his way from the night café
She moves to his table and drinks his wine
The guy in the raincoat is laughing this time
Are they're here to stay at the night café
And the script isn't ending under my time
He calls for the waiter and pays for the wine
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
And the script isn't ending under my time
He calls for the waiter and pays for the wine
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
(Blue Note Café)
At the night café
At the night café
At the night café
At the night café
"Night Cafe" by Secret Service paints a picture of a scene unfolding in a café after dark. The song's lyrics seem to describe the interactions between a variety of characters, each with their own story to tell. The first verse sets the tone with the line, "She's wearing glasses, just trust her taste." This appears to allude to a woman in the café, perhaps the singer or the object of their desire. The harmonica adds a wistful feel as the story unfolds.
The second verse introduces the first of the characters, "The kid in the corner gets up and leaves." This person remains a mystery as the focus shifts back to the female protagonist. There are hints of a rendezvous as she waits for her date, "Waiting for the date at the night café." The mood is leisurely but anticipatory as they move towards a scripted encounter.
The next character to be introduced is "The guy in the raincoat," who appears to be a regular. The cab driver's swearing hints at the possibility of a lost lover or a broken heart. This heartbreaking scene culminates with the woman protagonist joining him and adding some laughter. The song ends with a sense of unresolved anticipation as the waiter is called and the wine is paid for, leaving the listener to wonder what will happen next.
Overall, "Night Cafe" is a romantic, melancholic song that tells a story through its lyrics. The sense of drama and mystery in the lyrics draws the listener in and encourages them to imagine their own version of events.
