Easy

Shoulder to shoulder
I know it could be easy, yeah
Now keep your head up, talk to me,
I know it could be easy, yeah.
What would the world be if we let it be just fine,
What would a smile be if not a tear sometime.

Sister, sister,
I know it could be easy, yeah.
Now keep your head up, talk to me,
I know it could be easy, yeah.
What would the world be if we let it be just fine,
What would a smile be if not a tear sometime.

I'd rather fail on turf
And call it a lesson learned.
I'd rather fail on my turf
Than follow you and you burn.

I'd rather fail on turf
And call it a lesson learned.
I'd rather fail on my turf
Than follow you and you burn.

Shoulder to shoulder
I know it could be easy, yeah
Now keep your head up, talk to me,
I know it could be easy, yeah.
What would the world be if we let it be just fine,
What would a smile be if not a tear sometime.

Mother, mother,
I know it could be easy, yeah.

I'd rather fail on turf
And call it a lesson learned.

I'd rather fail on my turf
Than follow you and you burn.

Overall Meaning

In Seinabo Sey's song "Easy," the lyrics express a desire for unity and understanding among people, specifically among sisters and mothers. The repeated phrase "I know it could be easy" suggests that finding common ground and resolving tensions between individuals or groups could be a simple process if people were willing to work together. The lyrics also ask questions about the nature of the world and the meaning of emotions, wondering what life would be like if we allowed things to be "just fine" and acknowledging that sometimes a smile can be accompanied by tears.

The second half of the song takes a more personal turn, with the singer stating that she would rather fail on her own terms than follow someone else and potentially be hurt or disappointed. This sentiment suggests a desire for independence and self-determination, as well as a willingness to learn from one's mistakes.

on Sorry

Wrong when told the right way Might making string your bow

This line seems to be referencing the phrase about adding strings to ones how. The added strings are abilities or skill sets. So doing wrong when you know what is right is a method one can choose but it is chosing sin.

on You

You
by Seinabo Sey

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

I've been saving you a space
You already won this race
Cause it seems like you are on the run
Won't you tell me what you're hiding from

I need you so I
I need you so I
I need you so I will stay
Yes I will be standing right where you left me
Until you look my way

If you tell me what to do
I'll move mountains showing proof
If you let me i'll turn on the light
Show you all I see in you is right
We might need to speak the truth
All the lies are feeling used
Are you sure you nothing good will come
If we keep on marching to this drum

I need you so I
I need you so I
I need you so I will stay
Yes I will be standing right where you left me
Until you look my way

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from
