Hey guys,
I really love music and in this post I have a request. I just wanted to ask if anyone would be down to do a version of "Same Old Love" with the vocals of Rihanna's version but the beat of Selena Gomez's version – because the beat in RiRi's version sucks whereas the beat in Sel's version is just everything.
I tried to do that version myself but it was awful because I'm not a professional at editing and stuff.
Rihanna is like my favorite artist in the world and "Same Old Love" my fav song, it's so catchy and especially it's never getting boring.
"Where Have You Been" by Rih has used to be my fav song for years.
When I first heard "Same Old Love" by Selena, I absolutely feel in love with it.
Then, one time, I heard that leaked snippet of Rih's version and I was immediately obsessed with it.
But unfortunately the snippet was very short and had that annoying "Music Mafia" shout-out on it.
I downloaded an extended version of the snippet and elongated it even more by repetition (if you know what I mean).
So, when I found out that my new favorite song was almost sung by me favorite singer and that Rihanna had even recorded a demo of it, I freaked out and was so happy.
I hoped to be able to listen to it one day.
It was so frustrating to wait for the demo, I literally thought every day about it. Especially every time when I listened to Selena's version I wanted to hear Rihanna's voice on the track. I couldn't wait for her full demo to surface. What drove me especially crazy was that I didn't even know if it was ever going to surface, and if so how long it would take.
So when her full demo finally surfaced I listened to it all day long, I couldn't stop listening to it.
In my eyes, Rihanna's voice color, her accent and the vibe she gives the song are just making the song so spicy, sexy, passionate and sassy.
And, don't get me wrong, I always loved Selena as a person, her acting talent, her voice and her songs; and Sel has such a good heart.
A lot of my favorite songs are Selena songs.
And I will always love Selena's version and keep listening to it. I love the, like, chill vibe Selena's version gives.
But I, like, just need a version of Rih that I "can listen to". Now, Rih's version has surfaced and nothing's gonna change anymore; Rihanna's version is just a demo, it's not completely mastered; since the song is not hers anymore it will never be released officially and completely "finished".
That's why I'm asking you guys if anyone of you would be so sweet and would make that version for me.
In the following I'm going to mention some things, it would be very lovely if you'd keep them in mind if you decided to do that version I want.
I heard mash-ups of Rihanna's and Selena's versions. Rih's voice is high-pitched to match with Selena's voice and her version's beat I guess.
In this version that I need I don't want Rihanna's vocals to be high-pitched but in normal pitch if that's possible.
But still: since Selena's version's speed is a bit slower than Rihanna's, Rihanna's vocals would need to be slowed down.
The bridge of Rih's version is, like, very empty and boring if you compare it to Sel's version.
In terms of the bridge I thought of three things:
• in terms of Sel's "I'm so sick of that" and "so sick of that love" vocals underneath the male "I'm so sick of that" and "so sick of that love" vocals in her version, Rih's "I'm so sick of that" and "so sick of that ... love" vocals could be taken from the chorus to the bridge,
• Rih's "Oh-oh-oh" from the chorus could be edited to sound like the one vocal in Sel's version's bridge that's like an elongated "Oh-oh-oh" vocal,
• in terms of Sel's "yeah" vocal, Rih's "yeah" vocal could be taken of her song "Yeah, I Said It" and edited a bit, drawn out/pulled the length or whatever to sound like Sel's "yeah" vocal in the bridge.
It would also be nice if the three "ah" vocals of Rihanna's version at the very beginning (which are taken from Charli XCX's version/demo) could be removed.
Furthermore it would be lovely if the "oho-ohou" vocals in Selena's version at 3:27 and 3:32 could be taken in that version.
You can upload that version to YouTube or you can email it to me.
It would make me very, very happy if any of you guys took up the challenge and created this version.
