By 2009, Sertab and her partner Demir Demirkan, who is known as a rock singer in Turkey, released an original album called "Painted on Water". The name of the project, Painted on Water, refers to a traditional Turkish painting method "Ebru", which is painted on water and then dried on a paper.
Sertab released a new album named "Rengarenk" (Colorful) in 2010 to positive commentaries. This has several new songs and a couple of remixes of one of the songs. This is not similar to Painted on Water and reflects Sertab's original pop style.

Aşk, dön ölümden
Aşk, bir sebepten
Gel, gir dünyama
Aşk, dön ölümden
Bir sebepten
Gir dünyama
Aşk, dön ölümden
Geç tenimden
Gel, gir dünyama
Aşk, vur yürekten
Aşk, yak gönülden
Aşk, geç tenimden
Gel, gir kanıma
Aşk, dön ölümden
Bir sebepten
Gir dünyama
Aşk, dön ölümden
Geç tenimden
Gel, gir dünyama
(Girar tık, sabrım kalmadı)
(Beni duysana, duysana, duysana, duysana)
Aşk, dön ölümden
Bir sebepten
Gir dünyama
Aşk, dön ölümden
Geç tenimden
Gel, gir dünyama
Gel, gir dünyama
These Turkish lyrics are from Sertab Erener's song "Aşk," which translates to "Love." The opening lyrics of the song are repeated throughout, and they mean: "Love, escape from many things. Love, return from death. Love, for a reason. Come, enter my world." This seems to suggest that love is powerful and can offer a way out of difficulties.
In the next segment, the lyrics "Love, return from death. For a reason. Enter my world" are repeated, with the addition of "pass through my skin" in place of "for a reason." This could signify that love is something that requires a physical and emotional connection, and it has the power to change someone even to their core.
In the final segment, the lyrics "Love, hit the heart. Love, burn the soul. Love, pass through my skin. Come, enter my blood" are repeated, followed by the refrain again. This could mean that love is not just an emotion, but a physical sensation that permeates throughout the entire body, and it has the power to affect someone on a molecular level.
Overall, the song seems to be about the overwhelming power of love and its ability to transform and heal.
