Nothing but a trail of tears
Oh my God, my little lady
Where have they taken you?
I never heard you scream
Strange how pain etches patterns on your heart
Just like frost grows on the windowpane
My eyes gone black, they've pierced my hands and side
I've searched high and I've searched low
Damn the motive, I don't know
Another child torn from her father
Where have they taken you?
I'm praying for your soul
Show your face, tell me why it must be her
You faceless evil shake me to my core
And what do you do with faith and belief
When tragedy buries, me buries me, buries me alive?
Hold your hands up high
Lift them toward the sky
When all I have is torn down, down, down
Meet my pain tonight
Something wicked this way came
Just ghosts and demons from my past
Are they trying to draw me out?
Vindictively I'm recompensed
No shadow of a doubt
Hold your hands up high
Lift them toward the sky
When all I have is torn down, down, down
Meet my pain tonight
Somewhere out there lies a girl
stolen by a broken world
Can't escape my frozen past
Shattered like a rock through glass
I'm torn
I'm torn
I'm torn
I'm torn
Somewhere out there lies a girl
stolen by a broken world
The lyrics of Shadow Gallery's song "Torn" paint a vivid picture of a father's despair over the disappearance of his daughter. The broken window and dreams signify his shattered hopes for his daughter's future, while the trail of tears symbolizes his sorrowful search for her. The father's anguish is further intensified by the fact that he never heard her scream, indicating that she was taken away silently. The pain inflicted upon the father is so profound that it etches patterns on his heart, much like frost grows on a windowpane. He questions the motive behind his daughter's abduction, and is left to pray for her soul.
The second half of the song shifts to the father's introspective thoughts about the tragic incident. He questions the faceless evil that stole his daughter and wonders what happens to faith and belief when tragedy strikes. The pain and despair that he feels are so consuming that he is left with nothing but torn remnants of his past. The song ends on a melancholic note as the father is left torn apart by the loss of his daughter.
Overall, the lyrics of "Torn" are powerful and emotive, exploring themes such as grief, loss, and despair.

The song is not about Jesus. The album is a concept album, and in this song The Man (main protagonist) enters the room and finds his daughter Alaska gone and kidnapped, presumably by the people who are chasing him (The New World Order). I cant speak of wether there is a religious meaning in the song itself, but thats how the story goes.
