Vault 16
Shadrow Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Here in Vault 16
We live a scientific dream
The people in our team
Can take care of anyone
A gentle glowing green
A living health machine
Thereβ€²s data on the screen
That monitors everyone
Ever since the bombs fell
We've been working hard to save humanity
And weβ€²ll be safe in our shell
No need to face the horrors of insanity
Here in Vault 16
We keep it clean
Destroy disease and disfunction
Behind our door, we'll find a cure to biological corruption
Eventually we'll find a way
To make tomorrow good today
Here in Vault 16
We all have PhDβ€²s
And medical degrees are handed to everyone
The lessons that they teach
Make medicine a breeze
We donβ€²t need other things
To get the procedure done
When the vault was first built
I could hardly name a single person here
But now my hard drive is filled
With all the data to fulfill my purpose here
Here in Vault 16
We keep it clean
Destroy disease and disfunction
Behind our door
We'll find the cure to biological corruption
Eventually weβ€²ll find a way
To make tomorrow good today
Here in Vault 16
The ends justify the means
The duty falls to me
Top take care of everyone
Here in Vault 16
We keep it clean
Destroy disease and disfunction
Behind our door
You'll find the cure to biological corruption

So come on in donβ€²t be afraid
We're gonna take your breath away

+Shadrow Shadrow-Senpai, I made a parody and I want to see what you think:

Here in Vault 30
We have advanced technology
The people in our vault,
They can do anything!

The clank of a machine
Its gears scrubbed and clean.
It aims to be able
To take care of anyone!

Ever since outside was Hell
We’ve been doing our best to repopulate
And we’ll be safe when we’re free now
No need to worry about losing your sanity

HERE IN VAULT 30
TECHNOLOGY
IS THE ONE THAT KEEPS US FROM DESTRUCTION
BEHIND THE DOOR
WE’LL MAKE MORE
AND DESTROY THE ONES WITH DYSFUNCTION
EVENTUALLY WE’LL MAKE OUR WAY
INTO A BEAUTIFUL GLOWING DAY

Here in Vault 30
We’re all living the dream
To survive the fall
Here to repopulate

The science that we teach
Make programming ea-sy
We don’t need art or mass
To do what we need to do

When the machines were first built
I couldn’t correctly use a battery
But now my data banks are filled
With all the data to program everybody here

HERE IN VAULT 30
TECHNOLOGY
IS THE ONE THAT KEEPS US FROM DESTRUCTION
BEHIND THE DOOR
WE’LL MAKE MORE
AND DESTROY THE ONES WITH DYSFUNCTION
EVENTUALLY WE’LL MAKE OUR WAY
INTO A BEAUTIFUL GLOWING DAY

Audio Log: β€œOkay… Let’s see what we have to program today”
[Update. New purpose]
[New machines, data plans sent to your PipBoys]
[Replacement Data]
β€œNo… This isn’t right.”
[Due to poisonous air outside of vault, we need apparatuses that do not need air to breathe-]
[WARNING* TECHNOLOGY IS WORKING ON IT’S OWN, AIR VENTILATION HAS BEEN RECYCLED AND POISONED WARNING WARNING]
β€œGod no.”

Here in Vault 30
We only use machines
The duty falls to us to reprogram and repopulate

HERE IN VAULT 30
TECHNOLOGY
IS THE ONE THAT KEEPS US FROM DESTRUCTION
BEHIND THE DOOR
WE’LL MAKE MORE
AND DESTROY THE ONES WITH DYSFUNCTION
SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AFRAID
WE’LL BE THE ONES TO REPOPULATE

@jordanconlisk6618

I made this song today to the tune of 12 days of Christmas, its unfinished, lyrics probably go out of tune. Ahem.

On the 1-9th day of Fallout, I survived through today,
A deathclaw owned by the Enclave
2 raiders
3 feral ghouls
4 yao guois
5 virtibirds
6 frag grenades
7 glowing ones
8 fire ants
9 mini-nukes

that's it. If you want to help, please reply with your suggestion. thank you.

@Starlight-Tale

It's English, just not spoken very clearly.

AUDIO LOG:
"Alright, let's see what the data logs have for us today."
[Update. New hypothesis.]
[Problem not in finding cure or vaccine for virus.]
[Problem in transmission of virus itself.]
"Hmm. That can't be right."
[Virus spreads through airborne transmission via oxygenated cells.
Therefore, to eliminate virus-]
WARNING: AIR VENTILATION HAS BEEN SHUTDOWN. WARNING. WARNING.
"Dear God."

I can't stress enough how much I love the line, "Here in Vault 16, the ends justify the means." It, and Shadrow's amazing presentation of it, just sum up the themes and tones of the vault so well, to me.

@thisisacomment6061

Amazing. This should be an actual vault. It fits the fallout stories perfectly

@catherinebriggswood9269

And then we got Vault 81.
Which is pretty much the same thing.

@Hollowlock

One word: institute

@butterball33

It is, just that it's a single person vault.

@dimsthedimwit600

No, there is much People, they just are not moving!

@joeiken3357

This feels like it was copied from Vault 81 but it somehow came out a month before Fallout 4. I have no idea how this is possible.

Vault 16 sounds like what the Institute COULD have been, if they'd had less ego and more humanitarianism. It's tragic that their goal is so noble, but so incredibly impossible.

Excellent use of Vault-Tec's corrupting nature in the end there, too. This is solid all over.

@therudestofclouds2007

that institute thinks like the enclave. they think their the only ones who deserve to rule the world and everyone else are inhuman monsters

@flunting2016

But the enclave are completely right, everyone besides them have become inhuman and savage.
