1, Shaggy (born October 22, 1969, in Kingston, Jamaica as Orville Richard Burrell), is a Jamaican reggae artist who takes his nickname from his shaggy hair. He is especially notable for his distinctive sub-baritone voice.
His family immigrated to the United States and they settled in the neighborhood of Flatbush, Brooklyn, located in New York City, New York, USA.
In 1988, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War.
On his return from Iraq, he decided to pursue his music career and his first hit in 1993: "Oh Carolina", was a dancehall re-make of a ska hit by the Folkes Brothers. The same year, Shaggy appeared on Kenny Dope's hip hop album "The Unreleased Project". He worked together with producers such as Sting Intl., Don One (who cut his first track), Lloyd 'Spiderman' Campbell and Robert Livingston. He had further big hits, including "Boombastic" in 1995.
He then had a major comeback in 2001, featuring worldwide number-one hit singles "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel," the latter of which was built around Merrilee Rush's 1968 hit "Angel of the Morning" (which was remade in 1981 by Juice Newton). The album Hot Shot, from which those cuts came, would hit number one on the Billboard 200.
However, his 2002 release Lucky Day, and the 2005 album Clothes Drop failed to match Hot Shot's success.
Shaggy performed the theme for Showtime (film), a 2002 movie.

Carolina, no, no, jenny
Carolina, no, no, jenny
Carolina, no, no
What's her name?
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
A love like yours is hard to find
Carolina left me and gone
Went to number one and now she kicked up a storm
Who big her up now, me and Robert and Shaun?
Whole heap of entertainer, come, come step pan me corn
Now she was a top ten lady from the time she was born
But she went and played me now my love is gone
Oh, I got a new lady and she's got it going on
And on and on and on and on and on and on
So weh me say
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Shag you went number one, took top gun
Now they riding you, every boy's deciding to
Drop the track get trough you, what the hell?
Oh, you're done, sold a mil, competition got to chill, ill
Carolina, you all run down
Shaggy's not around, do you know how you sound?
Coming up here asking for him
Well I got drama for you, poor, he got another girlfriend
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Carolina was so fine blew everybody's mind
More expensive than a bottle of chardonnay wine
Aged to perfection and so refined
Every man want a taste 'cause your grapes are fine
Well me love your sexy rhythm and the way it rhyme
Booty by-by, oh my-my, I love you and that's no lie
But you lived up to your title, ho!
Caroline, ha ha
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Yeah, mad cash be spending
And thanks to you he got lawsuits pending
But that's alright 'cause he's lamping bossing skanks in
Cashing checks, stacking crazy banking
He's got Jennifer on his mind
He can't see you, so see you, I gots no more time
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Carolina left me and gone
Went to number one and now she kicked up a storm
Who big her up now, me and Robert and Shaun?
Whole heap of entertainer come and step pan me corn
She was a top ten lady from the time she was born
But she went and played me now my love is gone
Now I got my new lady and she's got it going on
And on and on and on and on and on and on
So weh
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
Jenny, she's blowing my mind
A love like yours is hard to find
The song "Jenny" by Shaggy featuring Budda Junky Swan is about the singer's ex-girlfriend, Carolina, who left him and went on to become successful. The lyrics suggest that the singer has moved on and found a new love interest, Jenny, who is blowing his mind. The line "a love like yours is hard to find" suggests that the new love is something special and unique, unlike anything the singer has experienced before.
The song also includes derogatory references to Carolina, who is described as "run down" and having "played" the singer. Despite her success and fine appearance, Carolina is written off as someone who has lost out on something good. The song is clearly focused on the singer's new love and how much better she is than his ex. Overall, "Jenny" is a song about moving on from a past relationship and finding love again.
