After "I Love Your Smile", Shanice continued to record albums, including 1999's Shanice, produced chiefly by Babyface. While she has not achieved significant commercial success with her later albums, she is acknowledged as a talented singer and many of her songs appeared on various soundtracks. She also sings backup and does studio sessions and can be heard on Toni Braxton's song "Unbreak My Heart". She can also be heard making vocal contributions to various games. She is married to actor/comedian Flex Alexander, with whom she has two children.
Not a stranger to taking long gaps between albums and singles, "Every Woman Dreams" finally emerged in June of 2005. The single is currently doing moderately well, and Shanice is now signed to IME Records (which is distributed through Universal/Motown). After several pushbacks, her fifth studio album (titled Every Woman Dreams) will be released on February 21, 2006. The video for "Every Woman Dreams" was released in December 2005 and is in current rotation on music networks like BET, MTV and Vh1.

A Hershey's kiss was my favorite thing in the world
When I was lost I would always turn to something sweet
A candy bar would always satisfy me instantly
You're my...
Chocolate you're my Chocolate (uh-huh)
Caramel cream filled hundred percent filled
Cocoa butta honey lova, you're like no otha You're my
Chocolate you're my chocolate
Like hot fudge you're too much I can't get enough
Of your chocolate, your chocolate..
You are my favorite candy
Everyday you would always surprise me with somethin new
A candle light (dinner) and a dozen roses just to name a few (few, few, few)
You always seem to know the things that I'm feelin'
You always give to me the things that I'm needin
I can neva let you go, you're the sweetest candy that I'll eva know
You're my..
Chocolate you're my Chocolate
Caramel cream filled hundred percent filled
Chocolate you're my chocolate
Cocoa butta honey lova, you're like no otha You're my

You are my favorite candy
In Shanice's song "Chocolate," the singer reminisces about her childhood love for Hershey's kisses and how something sweet could always lift her spirits. She then makes a comparison between her favorite candy and her current love interest. Throughout the song, Shanice refers to her lover as her chocolate, using the candy as a metaphor for his sweetness and indulgence. She mentions how he surprises her with romantic gestures and always seems to know what she needs. However, she also expresses how much she cannot get enough of him, that he's like hot fudge, "too much" but always satisfying.
The use of chocolate as a metaphor for love in the song is an effective way to convey Shanice's feelings without being too direct. She compares her love interest to something that universally brings happiness and comfort, which makes her feelings relatable to many listeners. Additionally, the repetition of the phrase "you're my chocolate" throughout the chorus helps to reinforce how Shanice views her lover.
One interesting fact about the song is that it was co-written by Shanice's mother, Crystal Wilson. Wilson was involved in many of the songwriting processes for Shanice's albums, as Shanice was only a teenager when she began her music career. Another fun fact is that the song was originally titled "Hershey's Kiss" but was changed to "Chocolate" to avoid legal issues.
