Early life and pre-Idol
Noll was born in the Australian town of Orange, New South Wales and grew up in the small town of Condobolin in central western New South Wales. He is the third and youngest of three children to parents Sharon and Neil Noll and along with brothers Damian and Adam, spent the entire of their childhood and teenage years living on the family farm which ran sheep and cattle and grew cereal crops. During his school years, Noll enjoyed drama classes and performed in a number of school productions. Noll has since expressed a desire to continue his acting work.
During his adult years, Noll began working on other farms and properties shearing sheep amongst other tasks. It was during this time Noll and his brothers formed the band called "Cypress" (named for the fact that they rehearsed in a timber mill), of which Shannon provided vocals and played guitar. The band played numerous small gigs around the Australian outback, playing in country pubs gaining a solid live reputation. Although the majority of songs performed by the band were cover versions of popular songs, the group enjoyed writing original music and would often perform these originals as part of their set.
Noll's father, Neil, was tragically killed during a farming accident in 2001, which led to Shannon and his brothers to take over the running of the family farm. Following the death and two years of extreme drought, the brothers sold the farm and settled in Condobolin with their mother. Shannon often cites the death of his father as a major inspiration in his musical career, and has penned a song on his latest album Lift titled "Now I Run" in memorium of his late father.
Noll and his now wife, Rochelle Ogsten began their relationship in 1997 welcoming the arrival of sons Cody in 2001 and Blake in 2002. The pair wed in October 2004 and daughter Sienna arrived in 2006.

Do you think I can make it?
Do you think I can take it?
Because you know I can't fake this
Do you wanna?
But who would ever believe
That this could happen to me
That this could be me
That this could be you
Do you wanna get loud?
Everybody get loud
Do you wanna get, get, get, get
Hey, hey, hey
Don't you think it's amazing?
Such a beautiful day
Lets all sing it together
And who would ever believe
That this could be true
That this could be me
That this could be you
Everybody get loud
Do you wanna get loud?
Everybody get
Up, turn it up, turn it up
We can take it higher
Up, turn it up, turn it up
We can make it higher
Cause I sill believe in the power of song
Something so right could never be wrong
So stand here beside me and give me your hand
To go home and love cause you know that we can
Loud
Do you wanna get loud?
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Do you wanna get loud (turn it up)
Everybody get, body get
The song "Loud" by Shannon Noll is an uplifting and empowering anthem that encourages listeners to come together and let their voices be heard. The opening lines of the song ask the listener if they believe Noll can "make it" and "take it," suggesting a struggle or obstacle he is facing. He then declares that he can't fake his emotions or intentions, urging the listener to join him in being authentic and showing their true selves. The chorus repeatedly asks if they want to get loud, inviting everyone to release their inhibitions and make some noise.
The second verse mentions the beauty of the day and asks the listener to sing along, creating a sense of unity and celebration. Noll then emphasizes that the idea of this type of joy and freedom might seem unlikely - "who would ever believe" - but it is real and can be experienced by anyone. The bridge summarizes the message of the song, stating that Noll still believes and has faith in the power of music to bring people together and spread positivity. He asks for someone to stand beside him and hold their hand as they "go home and love" - again emphasizing the importance of connection and community.
Overall, "Loud" is a catchy and energetic song with a message of authenticity and unity. It encourages listeners to let go of their worries and doubts and embrace their true selves, while also recognizing the power of music to bring people together.
