After graduating from Christ for the Nations and Dallas Baptist University, she has continued in this calling leading worship and ministering in music both internationally and at her local church, also joining forces with worship leaders & ministries such as Paul Baloche, Ross Parsley, Jared Anderson, The Desperation Band, Scott Krippayne, Revive Our Hearts & Day of Discovery. As a songwriter, Shannon’s songs have been utilized by Integrity Music, Maranatha! Music, LifeWay Worship, PBS, Discovery House Music, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Worship Leader Magazine’s Song DISCovery and local churches around the world. She has recorded four worship artist projects of her own, which can be found at www.shannonwexelberg.com.
Most importantly and best of all, Shannon loves Jesus. She is grateful that through each and every difficult season of her life, God has proven Himself faithful time and again and has taught her more about Himself. It is during these times that she has most learned what worship really looks like. More than a song, it is a posture of heart and a lifestyle. Shannon loves to travel and minister, but more than anything she loves to be on the home front with her husband and six year old son, enjoying family, friends, church & life in the Rocky Mountains.
I Have A Song
Shannon Wexelberg Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When it seems I've lost it all
And my back's against the wall
When my hearts grown dry and empty
When the life that I had planned is slipping through my hands
I hear sweet music rise above it all.
And When it seems my hope is ended, I was wrong ...
Singing to the one who set me free
I have song and my heart will ever praise Him
This world can never take this joy from me
When all else is gone,
I have a song
When I cannot see tomorrow
When the questions flood my mind
Looking back on wasted time
When my soul is full of sorrow
When the pain won't go away
And such brokenness remains
I join the music rising for above it all
It's an anthem to my true and faithful God
('repeat chorus)
Bridge;
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because Im free
For His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me...
God bless us all
In this song, Shannon Wexelberg expresses the comfort and hope that she finds in music and in praising God. When life throws difficult challenges at her, she turns to singing as a source of strength and joy that cannot be taken away by the world. When she feels lost or broken, she finds solace in the music that rises above the noise and offers a connection to her faith. With its repeated refrain of “I have a song,” the song celebrates the power of music to lift the spirit, even in the darkest of times.
The lyrics in this song paint a picture of resilience in the face of adversity, relying on faith and a deep connection to God. The verses describe the challenges that many of us face in our lives – feelings of hopelessness, pain, and brokenness – and the way that music can provide a sense of hope and purpose. The chorus tells us that no matter what happens in life, we always have a song that we can sing to express our gratitude and love for God, and that this song will never be silenced by the world.

I thank my Heavenly Father for orchestrating- literally the timing that i may be so blessed to have heard this song at just the right moment tonight. It was a seal on a promise that the Lord will have mercy on and deliver from sin the prodigals i love- including areas in my own life where I have heretofore not surrendered to be cleansed, corrected and set free. Praise be to God I have a song. 2 tim 2:20-26
