1. Shatterpoint are a Groove Metal band from Kent, England. They released their debut album, Memoirs of a Maker, in September 2011. With new tracks already in the pipeline and a string of gigs booked up, they are going from strength to strength, dominating the metal scene in South East Kent.
2. Hailing from Toronto Canada, Shatterpoint deliver their take of heavy music upon the world. Shatterpointās crushing riffs, ripping solos and in-your-face vocals, crank out relentlessly in a refreshing uncompromised fashion. Shatterpoint masterfully combine a fist clenching mixture of American and European metal, with some hardcore subtleties. This approach matched with Shatterpointās never ending search for the almighty riff have made Shatterpoint one of metals most dangerous up and coming bands. Formed in 2002, Shatterpoint have made a big name for themselves in a relatively small amount of time. In 2004 Shatterpoint completed their first EP release titled āConsequencesā which received a huge amount of international notoriety and gave Shatterpoint a foothold into the world of heavy music. The āConsequencesā EP is a 6 song, thirty minute āmini albumā which delivers a ārollercoaster of riffsā from start to finish. The EP received countless outstanding reviews and a massive distribution of worldwide airplay which blew away every expectation of a typical EP demo. Since the release of āConsequencesā Shatterpoint have been relentlessly playing shows across Canada, gaining momentum and fans at each stop along the way, proving to be one of the top contenders of the Canadian metal scene. Over the past year Shatterpoint have been working extremely hard writing and recording their much anticipated follow up to the Consequences EP, titled āDead Precedenceā which will be Shatterpoints first official full length release. The much awaited āDead Precedenceā is produced by metal master Greg Dawson (The End, Moneen) at BWC studios and is a huge leap forward for the band as a whole. While most bands churn out song after song using a predictable and repetitive formula; Shatterpoint made a conscious effort to produce an album which never bores, never lets up and keeps throwing new stuff at the listener from start to finish. Shatterpoint carve their own path, never compromising the integrity of their music at the prospect of more fans or more attention, which has helped the band produce their most punishing offering to date. āDEAD PRECEDENCEā the crushing follow up to the 2004 āCONSEQUENCESā EP is sure to leave a path of destruction worldwide, and will be available everywhere in March 2007, via Power Play records.

The lyrics of Shatterpoint's song Consequences tells the story of a person who is lost and struggling to find their way back, after being consumed by hate, anger, and despair. The songwriter expresses the feeling of being in a constant state of descent on a downwards spiral, as their life is once again hell. They rely on the truth, even though it hurts, to pull them out of futility and the emptiness of idolatry. The person is lost in the darkness and nothingness, but somehow, they have found a way out of their despair, seeking freedom from what they call home. They are angry and want to break free from the chains of hatred that have consumed them. They admit to being down for too long and are losing control of their lives. The artist is now faced with the realization that the end of the tunnel is near and must resist their urge to give in to their past mistakes. This song is a message of hope, encouraging people not to give up.

Hard disagree.
(1) 10th Edition is big, but lots of folks don't care about GW. I personally find it amazing how people are falling for 10th edition marketing talk...before the game is even out and with a lot of the marketing even contradicting promises / earlier marketing. But that is the GW subs...(I played lots of 40k and AoS - new GW is a lot better, but some things and approaches are just in their DNA and dictated by their market position)
(2) Disney+ shows and the IP in general might hook boardgamers and people looking to get into more manageable skirmish games. Look at known releases in that context as well to see part of their strategy...
(3) Skirmish game vs the heavy investment in money and hobby time that is 40K...
(5) It is already doing very well with preorders...
(6) Unfortunetely lots of negativity from some Legion players (more than anyone else) that don't want to see another SW game or fear losing play group members - is a bigger problem than GW. Again, this is exactly what Legion doesn't need or the Legion community - it is a very narrow perspective...

1. Where is it more expensive? For 150ā¬ you have in the basic box everything you need for 2 players to enjoy the game. Even if you don't want the core box, for 200ā¬ you can get 2 Squads, terrain and the dice. The rules are free to download, you don't need to buy extra books for your squads etc.
2. The rules are simple as soon as you start to play. They are a bit weird worded, but definitely aimed at people playing this kind of game for the first time.
3. what accessories? the only thing you could refer to is the vader vs kenobi diorama but legion had something similar so not that much of a surprise.
4. Use magnets and a bigger base ( so basicly spent maximum of 30ā¬ for 10 bases and a lot of strong magnets in addition to time and creativity) and voila, up to scale because model size barely matters as long your model doesn't end up higher than 3 inches.
5. A) They will definitely bring the mandalorian to the game later on, because why shouldn't they? They will even include the main character Cal from the new video games later on.
B) You want a skirmisher that probably need a variety to live and be interesting over a long period of time based on a tv show where the 3rd season flopped compared to the first one instead of the whole star wars universe including games and other media?
C) Legion is based on 6 movies that are even older than the cartoon. They chose to go with the clone wars series to start with because they have the biggest cast of characters to use for a character based skirmisher, so the decision makes sense. Only recently are more characters officially introduced in the disney canon of the imperial and post imperial time, some of them more loved than others.
D) For a cartoon that is 15 years old, clone wars manages to address darker themes around war while still being considered kids friendly and even made the foundation of mandalorian culture where the mandolorian expands upon as well characters that are important for the mandalorian ( ahsoka and Bo-Katan ). The spin offs bad batch and rebels expand on the interrim time of republic to empire and the early rebellion.
6. It is a game aimed at newcomers to the miniature gaming world and should looked at it from that perspective. Because there aren't many games with few miniatures to build, play and paint to start with and a lore and story to get easy behind it.
edit: you are of course allowed to not play certain systems, but if you start arguing why you don't want to play it at least give good explanations why instead of vague reasons without concrete examples. It looks like you had your opinion build before lookingg closer at the system and design choices.

It depends on what you think "Dead on arrival" means. If you think it means that it will sell more that 10th then of course it will fail. But I think that is an unrealstic goal.
I think there are enough Star Wars fans + skirmish players that wont touch army games around to make the game successful but again we peobably need to define what is successful for a release like this.

I felt I had defined it, but I will hammer home the point that I don't really care about your the game sells. I care about the active player base.
A star wars fan that buys the cool models isn't growing the community and helping people to get games in.
This is a personal bias of course, as to the business spreadsheet a collector and a player is basically the same.

On the flip side, if one is tired of GW edition grind, prices and shenanigans then seeing a brand new, exciting game with a major IP, great production costs and a comparatively cheap entry cost, the launch timing might be a great thing.
Ultimately the reality of non-GW products is that it is a hard slog no matter what. Better rules, better models, better IP, ideal launch date, the best you can hope for is a small but dedicated community.

Others have said it, but I will echo (base) it here ā the target audiences don't have enough overlap for 10th edition to kill Shatterpoint.
I hope that you make Shatterpoint a regular part of FSWG. It won't do GW numbers, but those videos also won't be competing with the other 27,000 GW 40k universe YouTube content creators.

100% .. this is a game NOT aimed at 40K players... so it's sort of irrelevant OTHER than I think the content creator hype being focused on 40K will have some impact ... but not enough to "kill" shatterpoint as it were.
If Kill Team was doing ridiculously well (and readily available) and if Kill Team was getting a refresh, new edition, someting like that... or if we DID see a brand new "space hulk" style space marines vs tyranids game that was targetting skirmish gamers... might be different.
The one thing NOT mentioned in the video is what is going to happen to all the dedicated Star Wars: Legion players... do they embrace Shatterpoint as they love star wars? or do they overall boycot it because it's taking from their own massed battle game... I think that is more interesting dilema than the 40K drop... actually... I take that back.. there will be people who want to play and collect both... and they probably won't have enough $$ for both right at the same time in June/July... so financially, it could spread the sales of Shatterpoint out a bit for those people. So yeah, mixed bag but I still think Shatterpoint targets enough of a different group it will be okay.

I have a lot of friends who are crazy Star Wars fans but not into miniature games. My first thought was the team sizes are small enough that I could make a few teams and it'd be easy enough to get them to play. Sounds like a great introduction to skirmish mini games.

I hope that's the case! This game shows many design choices that I think the more casual boardgame crowd will, if not like, have fewer issues with than classic wargamers. Certainly one of my friends who has said a very hard no to ever trying a game like KT, had no issues with taking Shatterpoint for a whirl. the power of Star Wars!

Unfortunately June is perfect for launching mini games due to the primary demographic (late HS, through college) being off for the summer and having more time to play/paint new models. I do however think they have a good release cadence and a solid core set of rules. I really like the scale since i can flex my painting skill on em. The cartoon aesthetic also really works in the games favor since the saturated colors and strong shadows look very nice from 3ft away.

I definitely think this will mesh well with your coverage of Kill Team and Deadzone. GW lost me as a company with their, āyou will not be missedā comment a while ago. I still play KT every now and then with some friends that live out of state (and I canāt find a box of Kasrkins to save my life, $99 for a box on Amazon here). I personally think that Deadzone is a lot more fun to play. My local group have gone that way but Iām still seeing a game of 40k here and there but the gaming stores in my area are majority card games and tournaments. With companies like Mantic and Corvus Belli, itās hard to support GW just because anymore. Love the channel and keep up the good work over there on that side of the pond brother.

Love the channel, but I think you're being a bit myopic here. I think the Star Wars IP will give this product a long enough tail that they can ship more boxes and grow their player base. Especially given that they have begun with Ep1-3 era and not 4-6 which I imagine will scoop up more older players with disposable income. Would agree with your concern more if this were a new unestablished IP. Also disappointed I did not receive multiple salutations ;) GLHF
