Show You

You're way too short to get on this ride
No I'm not, no I'm not, you tryna tell me that I
I gotta be home when the street lights glow?
You can't watch your TV show
I will watch what I wanna watch
No, won't listen to you, do what I wanna do
One hundred miles on my hands
Do I need to show you?
Guess I gotta show you
And if you don't believe me now
I'll flip the whole world upside down
Do I need to show you?
Guess I gotta show you
Watch me swim across this lake
Fly through the sky in my Superman cape
Watch me walk across this wire
Tip-toe through the coals of a blazing fire
Watch me fly this kite in the rain
I'll jump rope with my ball and chain
Come by and knock on my house of cards
If it falls I'll rebuild it from the start
I won't listen to you, do what I wanna do
And I will walk this road ahead
One hundred miles on my hands
Do I need to show you?
Guess I gotta show you
And if you don't believe me now
I'll flip the whole world upside down
Do I need to show you?
Guess I gotta show you
Do I really gotta show you now? Really, really, really, gotta show you now?
Do I really gotta spell it out? I-T, I spell it out
If you really wanna see me now? Watch me walk across the clouds
I don't know what you heard about, listen to me yell it loud
Do I really gotta show you now? Really, really, really, gotta show you now?
Do I really gotta spell it out? I-T, I spell it out
If you really wanna see me now? Watch me walk across the clouds
I don't know what you heard about, see that door I'll knock it down
And I will walk this road ahead
Hundred miles on my hands
Do I need to show you?
Guess I gotta show you
And if you don't believe me now
I'll flip the whole world upside down
And do I need to show you?
Guess I gotta show you
Do I really gotta show you now? Really, really, really, gotta show you now?
Do I really gotta spell it out? I-T, I spell it out
If you really wanna see me now? Watch me walk across the clouds
Do I need to show you? Guess I gotta show you
The lyrics of "Show You" by Shawn Mendes talks about the frustration and rebellion of a young individual who is always being told what they can or cannot do. They want to break free from the constraints of society and show the world what they are capable of achieving. The opening lines, "You can't walk the streets at night, you're way too short to get on this ride," portrays the limitations that are imposed upon them by others. They vehemently deny these restrictions and question why they are not allowed to do something simply because they are considered too young or inexperienced.
The line "And I will walk this road ahead, One hundred miles on my hands" is a metaphor for their determination and persistence to succeed despite the challenges they face. The rest of the song shows the different ways in which the individual will showcase their abilities to prove their doubters wrong, such as swimming across a lake or walking on a tightrope. The phrase "Do I really gotta spell it out? I-T, I spell it out" suggests that although the individual is being questioned and undermined by others, they are fully aware of their own capabilities and have no problem proving their worth.
Overall, the song is about empowering oneself to believe in their abilities and to not let anyone else dictate their limitations. It is a message of self-discovery and self-reliance, encouraging listeners to overcome their doubts and to follow their hearts.

What movie isn’t “standard”?
- A fish finding his lost son and traveling to Australia? Fighting sharks along the way?
- A superhero with marital issues fighting to save both his family and marriage?
- A rat learns to cook in Paris in a love story between 2 humans? What is the city of Love? PARIS!
- A boy with a single mother (that in itself is extremely cliche) with his favorite toys which gets lost. Said toys desperate to make boy happy again by finding him.
People who trash Elemental because it is “generic” are ironically people who tread out the lazy, age old argument without any sort of critical thinking.
It’s an absolute copout to call Elemental generic when in fact most films past and present have simple plot lines.
I just happy you found a connection with the movie!

I'd say this was definitely one of Pixar's most Romantic movies.
@rafaelmatos5851
Well, Pixar doesn't give much focus on romance when it comes to movies, but they always give some great pieces of it. With "Elemental", they managed to create one of the most beautiful and well-made romance stories ever. They made Wade and Ember's romance to feel realistic and relatable: two people from diferent cultures and upbringings struggling to find a way for them to work.
@ethanloming001
@@rafaelmatos5851The last Pixar romance movie I loved was Wall-E.❤. Elemental in my opinion was just as good as it's sweet, wholesome and romantic.
@cristinabadillo3613
They only have two romantic movies: Wall-e and Elemental
