As-Sajda Chapter 32 verse 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

الم
Alif, Lam, Mim

تَنزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ لا رَيْبَ فِيهِ
This is the revelation of the Book in which there is no doubt

مِن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
from the Lord of all worlds

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ
Do they say he fabricated it?

بَلْ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ
No, it is the truth from your Lord

لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا أَتَاهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ
To warn a people to whom no warner has come before, so that they may be guided

مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
before you, that they may be guided

اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا
It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them

فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ
in six days

ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ
then established Himself above the Throne

مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلا شَفِيعٍ
you have no protector or intercessor besides Him

أَفَلا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Will you not then remember?

يُدَبِّرُ الأَمْرَ مِنَ السَّمَاء إِلَى الأَرْضِ
He manages the affairs from the heaven to the earth

ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ
then it ascends to Him

فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ
in a Day the measure of which is a thousand years of those which you count

ذَلِكَ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ
He is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed

الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ
the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

الَّذِي أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ
He who perfected everything that He created

وَبَدَأَ خَلْقَ الإِنسَانِ مِن طِينٍ
and began the creation of man from clay

ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُ مِن سُلالَةٍ مِّن مَّاء مَّهِينٍ
then made his descendants from an extract of water disdained

ثُمَّ سَوَّاهُ
then He proportioned him

وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِ
and breathed into him of His [created] soul

وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالأَبْصَارَ وَالأَفْئِدَةَ
and made for you hearing and vision and hearts

قَلِيلا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
Little are you grateful

وَقَالُوا أَئِذَا ضَلَلْنَا فِي الأَرْضِ أَئِنَّا لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
And they say, 'When we are lost within the earth, will we indeed be [recreated] in a new creation?'

بَلْ هُم بِلِقَاء رَبِّهِمْ كَافِرُونَ
Rather, they are, in the meeting with their Lord, disbelievers

قُلْ يَتَوَفَّاكُم مَّلَكُ الْمَوْتِ
Say, 'The Angel of Death will take you'

الَّذِي وُكِّلَ بِكُمْ
to whom you are entrusted

ثُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ
then to your Lord, you will be returned

وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذِ الْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُو رُؤُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ
And if you could but see when the criminals are bent over before their Lord

رَبَّنَا أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا
they say, 'Our Lord, we have seen and heard'

فَارْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ
so return us to the world that we may do righteous deeds. Indeed, we are certain [of it]'

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَآتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَاهَا
And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance

وَلَكِنْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ مِنِّي لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ
But the word from Me will come into effect that I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together

فَذُوقُوا بِمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَاء يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا
So taste [the punishment] because you forgot the meeting of this day of yours

إِنَّا نَسِينَاكُمْ
Indeed, We have forgotten you

وَذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
and taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do

إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهَا خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَسَبَّحُوا بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ
Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord

وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
and they are not arrogant

تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ
Their sides part from their beds

يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا
calling upon their Lord in fear and aspiration

وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
and from what We have provided them, they spend

فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَّا أُخْفِيَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ
But no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes

جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
as reward for what they used to do

أَفَمَن كَانَ مُؤْمِنًا
Is he who is a believer

كَمَن كَانَ فَاسِقًا
like him who is defiantly disobedient?

لَّا يَسْتَوُونَ
They are not equal

أَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ
As for those who believed and did righteous deeds

فَلَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ الْمَأْوَى
for them are the Gardens of Refuge

نُزُلا بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
as hospitality for what they used to do

وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فَسَقُوا
But as for those who committed wrongdoing

فَمَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ
then their refuge is the Fire

كُلَّمَا أَرَادُوا أَن يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا
Whenever they wish to get out from it

أُعِيدُوا فِيهَا
they will be returned to it

وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ
and it will be said to them, 'Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny.'

وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمْ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الأَدْنَى
And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment

دُونَ الْعَذَابِ الأَكْبَرِ
before the greater punishment

لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
that they may return

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ
And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord

ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا
then turns away from them?

إِنَّا مِنَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُنتَقِمُونَ
Indeed, We will take retribution from the criminals

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ
And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture

فَلا تَكُن فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَائِهِ
so do not be in doubt over his meeting

وَجَعَلْنَاهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ
And We made it [i.e., the Scripture] a guidance for the Children of Israel

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا
and We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command

لَمَّا صَبَرُوا
when they were patient

وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ
and they were certain in Our signs

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ
Indeed, your Lord will judge between them

يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
on the Day of Resurrection

فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
concerning that over which they used to differ

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا
Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed

مِّن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْقُرُونِ
before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings?

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ
Indeed, in that are signs

أَفَلَا يَسْمَعُونَ
So will they not listen?

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَسُوقُ الْمَاء إِلَى الأَرْضِ الْجُرُزِ
Have they not seen that We drive the water [in clouds] to barren land

فَنُخْرِجُ بِهِ زَرْعًا
and bring forth thereby crops

تَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ أَنْعَامُهُمْ وَأَنفُسُهُمْ
from which their livestock and they themselves eat?

أَفَلَا يُبْصِرُونَ
So will they not see?

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْفَتْحُ
And they say, 'When will this opening come?'

إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
If you should be truthful

قُلْ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ لَا يَنفَعُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِيمَانُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
Say, 'On the Day of Opening the belief of those who disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved'

فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ
So turn away from them

وَانتَظِرْ
and wait

إِنَّهُمْ مُّنتَظِرُونَ
Indeed, they are waiting
