ORION
She Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You will first wonder if it's real
Something new with more appeal
Lines of things, our minds they'd steal
Now the human race will kneel
They offer us a new deal and give us food for each meal
We work to turn their future's wheels
Now we forgot just how to feel
Why do you behave the way that you do
Why are we ending up just like you
Why do you behave the way that you do
Why are we ending up just like you

We are lost
And we are afraid
What is the cost of the alien mind raid
Walking the streets, beings of space
The marching beat of the alien race

Why do you behave the way that you do
Why are we ending up just like you
We are products of being told what to do
We are products of being told what to do

Without progression, without the freedom of mind, we will be theirs
When will we learn to hold our future firm
Change can be made, and all your children saved

We can't rearrange, our futures are paved
Too scared of change

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to She's song "Orion" seem to be exploring themes of conformity and the loss of individuality in society. The song begins by portraying a dystopian world where people are offered a new deal, provided with basic necessities like food, but in return, they sacrifice their freedom and the ability to think for themselves. The human race has become enslaved, working for the benefit of those in power, forgetting how to truly feel and losing touch with their own emotions.

The chorus questions the behavior of this controlling force and reflects on the fact that humanity is ending up just like them. It raises a sense of frustration and confusion as to why people are becoming so similar to those who are oppressing them, maybe implying that it's due to the influence and manipulation of the controlling force.

The second verse further emphasizes the sense of being lost and afraid. The cost of this alien mind raid is not specifically mentioned, but it implies that the toll it takes on society is high. The image of beings from space marching in the streets creates a powerful visual representation of the invasive nature of this control.

The song continues to question why people are behaving in this manner and reflects on how individuals have become products of being told what to do. The repetition of this line serves to emphasize the loss of autonomy and the impact that external influences have on shaping our identities.

The lyrics conclude by suggesting that without progression and the freedom of the mind, we will remain under their control. The plea for change and the saving of future generations is embedded within the statement that rearranging our futures is a daunting task, highlighting the trepidation and fear of disrupting the status quo.

Overall, "Orion" presents a commentary on the dangers of conformity and the suppression of individuality, urging listeners to question and challenge the systems that seek to control them.

This may be a DAW but honestly this has so many kinds of bass slapped into one song.

The Wub
The Stringed bass (Both precision and Jazz pickups)
The Slap style bass
The Oscillators
And many more ....

Lain's musicianship is actually expressed alot in here

That little girl that fixes her robot is actually Ushio. It's a representation of her feelings and how they're intertwined with Tomoya and Nagisa. The robot is Tomoya while the girl is Ushio. The snow is supposed to represent the death of Nagisa, when the snow will come, she will be unable to move; it refers to her being unable to help the him. Tomoya becomes broken, which means he broke down and abandoned her. Re-watch the series and you'll start to understand that both worlds are intertwined.
