I Choose Love
Sheree Brown Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
When it seems like it's over, And the madness gets older for this girl.
That's when it's time for just a little dose of love. You see that's what we all need more of.
Some say it's hope and others say it's joy. But I say it's time to choose love. And it is not the have or have nots. And that is why I choose love.
When I see people hurtin', So many hearts heavy burdened I ask myself why?
And when life gives us trouble gotta not let the struggles take over our lives.
That's when it's time to make up our minds and tell the world don't give up on love
Some say it's hope and others say it's joy. But I say it's time to choose love. And it is not the have or have nots. And that is why I choose love.
That's when it's time to make up our minds and tell the world don't give up on love
Some say it's hope and others say it's joy. But I say it's time to choose love. And it is not the have or have nots. And that is why I choose love
I choose love. I choose love. I choose love....
The lyrics of "I Choose Love" by Sheree Brown convey a powerful message about the importance of choosing love in a world filled with challenges and struggles. The song begins by acknowledging the difficulties and chaos that exist in the world, creating a sense of constantly being on the move and trying to escape from the overwhelming realities of life. The singer reflects on the weariness that can come from living in a world where madness seems to only grow older and more entrenched, particularly for a woman facing these adversities.
As the song progresses, the narrative shifts towards a call for a "dose of love" as the antidote to the negativity and hardships that surround us. The lyrics emphasize the necessity of embracing love as a fundamental need, highlighting that love transcends material possessions and is crucial for inner peace and emotional well-being. The singer challenges the prevailing notions of hope and joy by asserting that the ultimate choice lies in prioritizing love, as it surpasses mere existence or abundance in defining our humanity.
The singer further delves into the pain and struggles of others, questioning the reasons behind hurt and suffering in the world. Despite the heaviness that burdens so many hearts, the artist advocates for resilience and a refusal to let life's troubles dictate our spirits. This resilience is portrayed as a conscious decision to not succumb to despair, but instead to proclaim to the world the importance of holding onto love in the face of adversity and negativity.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the universality of the need for love, emphasizing that it is not merely a simple sentiment but a profound force that brings immense joy and fulfillment. The repeated mantra of "I choose love" reinforces the singer's resolute commitment to prioritizing love above all else, despite the world's challenges and inequalities. Ultimately, the song serves as a heartfelt declaration of the singer's choice to embrace love as a guiding principle, highlighting its transformative power in fostering compassion, unity, and resilience in the face of life's struggles.
