The lyrics of Shota Shimizu’s song, Kimi Ga Kurasumachi, portray the feelings of the singer who struggles to get over a past love. The singer sees someone who looks similar to their past love at the train station and feels pain in their heart, even though they know it's not them. The singer remembers the clothes their past love used to own and how they felt pulled to them. The song further muses on the significance of the city that the singer's past love resides in, how it used to be a special place because they were there, but now it's just an ordinary place.
The song addresses the emotional turmoil of trying to forget a former lover and move on with life. The pain doesn't disappear easily, and the memories and familiar streets make it even harder. The singer can't forget their time with their past love, and their current environment serves as a constant reminder of someone who is no longer in their life. The song concludes by expressing gratitude and saying farewell to the past love, hoping that they are still living their dreams in some other part of the city.
