Shout
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on
I'm talking to you
Come on
Shout
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on
I'm talking to you
Come on
In violent times
You shouldn't have to sell your soul
In black and white
They really really ought to know
Those one track minds
That took you for a working boy
Kiss them goodbye
You shouldn't have to jump for joy
You shouldn't have to shout for joy
Shout
Shout
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on
I'm talking to you
Come on
They gave you life
And in return you gave them hell
As cold as ice
I hope we live to tell the tale
I hope we live to tell the tale
Shout
Shout
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on
I'm talking to you
Come on
Shout
Shout
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on
I'm talking to you
Come on
And when you've taken down your guard
If I could change your mind
I'd really love to break your heart
I'd really love to break your heart
Shout
Shout
Let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on
I'm talking to you
Come on
The song "Shout" by Tears for Fears is a powerful anthem for those who are struggling with their place in the world. At its core, the song is about standing up for yourself and refusing to let the world take advantage of you. The singer addresses the listener directly, urging them to "let it all out" and not be afraid to speak up and fight for what they believe in.
The lyrics also touch on themes of disillusionment and frustration with society. In "violent times," the singer argues, people should not have to "sell their souls" or compromise their values to get ahead. Rather, they should be able to live their lives on their own terms and pursue their dreams without being held back by the expectations of others.
Despite its serious themes, "Shout" is an upbeat, energetic song that encourages listeners to let their hair down and dance. The chorus, with its repeated refrain of "shout, shout, let it all out," is catchy and memorable, and the driving beat and soaring vocals make it the perfect anthem for a night out on the town.
Overall, "Shout" is a powerful song that speaks to the tension between individualism and conformity in modern society. It encourages listeners to stand up for themselves and embrace their unique identities, even in the face of resistance from those around them.

My mom used to always tell me that when I was little, I'm 41 now, that every time this song came on I would drop what I was doing and run into the room and just stand there listening. She died 3 weeks ago. Brings me good memories of her. 😊
