Showtaro Morikubo was going to become a profession athlete in tennis, however, due to an injury, he was left to coach instead. Not too long after that, he became a seiyuu under the Sigma 7 agent. Showtaro now, is a seiyuu (Japanese Voice Actor), a singer, and a radio host. He is in a band and has a solo career. His voice is very unique, he holds alot of talent, good at singing, guitar, drums, and voice acting. In his band, Mosquito Milk, he is the vocalist and main guitarist. When he went solo he released a cd called Zui, which had dark hard rock tracks. His best and most known song is "The Answer" which is a dark sadistic song. He does many roles in anime, but he's most known for X from Rockman X, Orphen from Sorcerer Stabber Orphen, Musica from Groove Adventure Rave, Ginji from GetBackers, Shikamaru from Naruto, Kirihara from Prince of Tennis, and Kadaj from Final Fantasy Advent Children. He is popular with the ladies, which they think he's absolutely gorgeous. He also has a live concert video dvd that was released in 2003, but he performed it live in 2001. He sings the songs on his Zui cd live, on the dvd with a couple of other songs.
Showtaro has sang many songs in his career as a recording artist. He is responsible with his band Mosquito Milk for the Rockman X5 Opening and Ending songs. It's a Maxi Single with 4 tracks, which are Monkey and Mizu No Naka (Inside Of Water) and their instrumental counter parts. He sang both Rockman X6 opening songs, "Moonlight" and "The Answer". He composed and wrote the ending song called "I.D.E.A." but it was sang by RoSt. He also sang the X7 ending song known as "Lazy Mind" which is a hard rock song with a rap verse. It's a single, and the albulm is called "Lazy Mind". It also comes with the instrumental version which is good for karaoke or if your tastes are into vocal-less music. It also has an extra track of his voice collection as "X" in the Rockman X7 video game which was released in 2003. His other Maxi Single with the band Mosquito Milk is called "Space Surfer c/w Sunny Day". It has 3 tracks and they are Space Surfer, Sunny Day, and Free Jam Question. He has also did a few character image songs, like "Born Again" which is a character image song of Ginji Amano from GetBackers and "Akaku Someru Tsuki" which is the character image song for Kirihara from The Prince Of Tennis. He has a song on one of the Dance Dance Revolution Games called "The Zona Song ~ Why!". The actually version of that song is a little more than 10 minutes long, its a popish exciting song that makes you want to dance.

NOTHING TO LOSE
Showtaro Morikubo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang
why not? why not?
why not? why not? ...you...
I know, I know ...Hey!!
Don't mean nothing!!
nothing to lose...
Bow-wow, Bow-wow
why not? why not?
why not? why not? ...you...
I know, I know, 目を覚まそう
I know, I know ...Hey!!
Don't mean nothing!!
nothing to lose...
Don't mean nothing!!
nothing to lose...
The lyrics of Showtaro Morikubo's "Nothing to Lose" talk about taking risks in life, being unafraid of failing or making mistakes, and living life to the fullest. The opening lines talk about looking at one's own fragile pride and dancing as if nothing else matters. The singer talks about the feeling of having nothing at the beginning, and only sighing is possible. The next set of lines talks about pushing away any bitter excuses and fighting with all might. The singer asks whether it is not worth starting from nothing because why not take the chance. The repeated "why not?" serves as a reminder to the listener to take risks and not be held back by the fear of failure.
The chorus talks about laughing off the past and focusing on the present. Nothing matters except enjoying life, and even if it ends basic, let it end with a smile. The lines encourage a carefree attitude to life and to not care about what others think. The following stanza talks about being overwhelmed with hunger and desire, as well as the importance of taking action when it comes to achieving goals. The listener is urged to wake up and make their dreams come true. The following chorus talks about the concept of paradiso, an Italian ideal of perfect happiness. The singer mentions not worrying about the transience of good times and living for the moment. The final lines talk about the fact that if one can be proud of their actions even if they end in failure, they have nothing to lose.
