Growing up as a minority in the United States, Shuba aims to write music for the underdogs who feel stuck inside society's “norm”. She fights the constant struggle of self-acceptance; from liking her hair, to feeling like she fits within the expectations of even her own Indian culture. At her 6th grade graduation in a small midwest town, Shuba wrote that she wanted to be a singer, hoping to be as recognizable as a skyscraper in a big city one day. From going on to doing a virtual jam session with Brian May of Queen, to being acknowledged for her singing talent by icons such as Celion Dion & Shakira, Shuba is well on her way to achieving that dream.
Love Runs Out

Are we afraid to drink the poison down?
Where do we go?
We go
We go
Where do we go?
We go
And I get what she meant
You′re sitting in bed
Sending him nudes
Betting on fools
He left you on read
But you get what you get
Honestly girl, what'd you expect?
Ain′t nobody worth the time, sister
Better turn before the tides get you
Red flags that he don't miss you
All the loving that he don't give you
Cinderella with the glass shoes
He′s old news
He don′t fit you
You don't even notice
He′s got hidden motives
Now I'm on my own ship
I′m coasting, I'm coasting
When he hit my phone up
Know that I′ll be ghosting
You can call me Casper
He falling, I'm floating
Where do we go when the love runs out?
Are we afraid to drink the poison down?
Where do we go?
We go
We go
Where do we go?
We go
How do we save us when the feeling fades?
Are we afraid to drink the pain away?
Where do we go?
We go
We go
Where do we go when the love runs out?
Yeah he look pretty, but he don't talk like money
I choose red bottoms over rock bottom now, honey
Everyone knows a boy wants a freak, ′til she actually shows
You think you′re his queen?
You're one of the hoes
You don′t even notice
He's got hidden motives
Now I′m on my own ship
I'm coasting, I′m coasting
When he hit my phone up
Know that I'll be ghosting
You can call me Casper
He falling, I'm floating
Where do we go when the love runs out?
Are we afraid to drink the poison down?
Where do we go?
We go
We go
Where do we go?
We go
How do we save us when the feeling fades?
Are we afraid to drink the pain away?
Where do we go?
We go
We go
Where do we go when the love runs out?
The lyrics of Shuba's song Love Runs Out explore the question of what happens when love fades away and how we deal with the aftermath. The opening lines ask the listener where they will go when love runs out and whether they will be afraid to face the pain that comes with it. The repetition of "where do we go" emphasizes the confusion and uncertainty that can follow the end of a relationship.
The next verse talks about a woman who is sending nude pictures to a man who has left her on read, highlighting the self-destructive tendencies that can often follow heartbreak. The chorus then repeats the opening lines, emphasizing the need to find a way to move on when love disappears.
In the third verse, Shuba sings about choosing self-respect over staying with someone who doesn't value her. She acknowledges the common belief that men want "freaks" but asserts that she would rather choose luxury (red bottoms) over settling for someone who doesn't treat her well. The chorus is repeated again, with the addition of the line "how do we save us when the feeling fades," alluding to the difficulty of keeping love alive in the face of changing emotions.
Overall, with its catchy beat and powerful lyrics, Love Runs Out provides a poignant and relatable commentary on the ups and downs of love and relationships.
