Vice
Shwan Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

If I was your favorite vice
You'd bring me home
To make you feel so
Alive
I'd make you feel alright
And you'd me mine
At least for tonight
When did I
Become so
Reliant on you

But when you're older
And you leave your prime
You'll only call me when you're sad
But would that be so bad?

If I was your favorite vice
You'd be Addicted like I am
You'd become my biggest fan
When did I
Become a piece
With no peace
Of mind

I waited for your call
But it never went through
Did you give up
Or did you learn the truth
That I became attached
Even though you're not
I know that you're not

If I was your favorite vice
You'd look at me again
You'd come with me and then
You'd tell me that I'm priceless
But you look at other prizes
At steeper fucking prices
I thought that you weren't like this
But you had other vices

I am not your favorite vice
But one day you'll call
And silly me, I'll answer and I'll fall
All over again
And over and over again
When did I

Become so
Reliant on you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Shwan's song "Vice" depict a complex and emotionally charged relationship dynamic between two individuals. In the first verse, the singer expresses a desire to be their partner's favorite vice, someone they turn to for excitement and escape. The longing to make the other person feel alive and the willingness to be relied on for temporary solace reveal a sense of deep emotional attachment and dependency. The lyrics reflect a fleeting yet intense connection, where both parties seek solace and validation in each other's presence.

As the song progresses, the singer acknowledges the transient nature of their role in the other person's life. The realization that they may only be sought out in moments of sadness or despair prompts introspection about the asymmetry of their relationship. The lyrics touch upon themes of self-worth and questioning one's place in the other person's life, highlighting the emotional toll of being relegated to a secondary role despite their yearning for a deeper connection.

The lyrics further delve into the singer's feelings of longing and insecurity as they await a call that never comes. The contrast between their emotional investment and the other person's apparent detachment underscores the disparity in their expectations and the harsh reality of unreciprocated feelings. The singer grapples with the pain of attachment and the fear of being discarded, highlighting the vulnerability and fragility of their emotional state.

In the poignant conclusion of the song, the singer laments not being the other person's favorite vice and anticipates a cycle of heartbreak and reconciliation. The lyrics convey a sense of resignation and acceptance of their unrequited love, as the singer acknowledges the power dynamics and emotional complexities at play. The recurring theme of reliance on the other person underscores the depth of their emotional entanglement and the struggle to break free from a tumultuous and ultimately unfulfilling relationship.

Full legend, my favorite snowboarder of all time< his rap video is sick and I loved his summit board.

@sowshulmedia9482

In 1982, my brother and I built snowboards out of plywood and fiberglass, with aluminum rails...we hiked up in the back country of SoCal mountains 'cause in those days the resorts wouldn't let you on the lifts !  By 1989, we were "veterans", and fully appreciated the talents of Shawn Farmer, Damian Sanders, Dave Seone, Shaun Palmer, Nick Perata et al. Even with 7 years under our belt, these dudes were head and shoulders above anything we were doing... our hits and drops were 20' ...theirs were 40-50+ with a back flip thrown in "just because" ...absolute insanity back in those days.
Long live Shawn Farmer, what a bad a$$ MuthaFunker !!
