Summer Nights
Siames Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

TELL HER WHEN IT RAINS
I DON'T FEEL IT,
TELL HER I'M TO BLAME
DIDN'T SEE IT.

WINTER'S SNOWS
DON'T HIDE MY WOES
I CAN'T LIE TO YOU,
I TRIED TO WARN HER
THAT SOMETIMES WE FALL IN THE DARK

IT'S SUMMER TIME
SINGING AL GREEN IN YOUR CAR
HEADING TO A PARTY
& THE NIGHT AIR FEELS ALIVE

JUST SITTING HERE
I'M WAITING, OH YEAH
AND HE'S NOT BY MY SIDE,
FEELING DAZED AND I CAN'T GET HIM OUT,
STUCK IN YESTERDAY.

HE DON'T KNOW IT
I RARELY SHOWED IT
I CAN'T LIE TO YOU,
I TRIED TO WARN HIM
THAT SOMETIMES WE FALL IN THE DARK

IT'S SUMMER TIME
SINGING AL GREEN IN YOUR CAR
HEADING TO A PARTY
& THE NIGHT AIR FEELS ALIVE

BUT IN MY LIFE
I NEVER MEANT TO CAUSE NO HARM
NEVER HURT NOBODY
JUST WANNA TAKE THIS CHANCE TO FLY
ON THIS SUMMER NIGHT

BUT IN MY LIFE
I NEVER MEANT TO CAUSE NO HARM,

NEVER HURT NOBODY,
JUST WANNA TAKE THIS CHANCE TO FLY

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Siames's song "Summer Nights" describe the complexities of a failed romance during the season of summer. The singer acknowledges that they cannot lie to the person they're talking to, as they understand that they are responsible for the heartbreak. The lyrics "Tell her when it rains I don't feel it, tell her I'm to blame didn't see it" indicate that the singer is numb to their emotions and is unaware of the harm they have done to their partner.

The song goes on to describe a summer night where the singers are driving to a party, singing along to Al Green in the car. Despite the festive atmosphere, the singer expresses their longing for their past lover, who is not with them. The lyrics "Just sitting here I'm waiting, oh yeah and he's not by my side, feeling dazed and I can't get him out, stuck in yesterday" reveal that the singer is struggling to move on from their ex.

The chorus repeats the same lines, describing the feeling of being alive on a summer night. The singer acknowledges that they did not intend to hurt anyone, but they just wanted to take a risk and try something new. In essence, the song is about the bittersweet moments of a failed romance, and the singer's desire to move on while acknowledging their faults.

Lyrics
Tell her when it rains
I don't feel it
Tell her I'm to blame
Didn't see it
Winter's snows
Don't hide my woes
I can't lie to you
I tried to warn her that sometimes we fall in the dark
It's summertime
Singing Al Green in your car
Heading to a party
And the night air feels alive
Just sitting here
I'm waiting, oh yeah
But he's not by my side
Feeling dazed and I can't get him out
Stuck in yesterday
He don't know it
I rarely showed it
I can't lie to you
I tried to warn him that sometimes we fall in the dark
It's summertime
Singing Al Green in your car
Heading to a party
And the night air feels alive
But in my life
I never meant to cause no harm
Never hurt nobody
Just wanna take this chance to fly
On this summer night
But in my life
I never meant to cause no harm
Never hurt nobody
Just wanna take this chance to fly

Let me guess about the star placements:

Boy in Green - (leg) He'll go to any length for his friends

Boy in Red - (palm) His friends are reflected in every action he takes

Girl in Black - (behind neck) She always has her friends best interest in mind

Girl in Orange - (face) She wears her friendships on her cheek, proud of what they mean to her

I agree with you all people that this song and especially the video not only makes you remember your childhood but makes you feel it.

But that's what the paradox of life is.
If you don't live in the moment, act in the present the next thing you remember are MEMORIES with nothing but the regrets of the past.
And it's true for all ages whether you're in your teens, your 20's, 30's or 40's or lying on your death bed.

Being nostalgic by this song you may remember your friends, you may have their number but never made the call, you may see their insta/fb id but you never made the DM .
Thinking in your 20's it's too late it's of no use now. ALRIGHT
So now you're in your 30's and a similar/same song is popped up by the ONE AND ONLY "UTUBE ALGO" Again you'll think that i wish that i'd have made that CALL/DM in my 20's and again you'll think that it's too late. And this may be similar in your 40's, 50's or 60's too. You may be scared to contact them thinking if they don't wanna talk to you or they forgot you. BUT that's what you've got to understand Maybe what's with you is the same for them.
So stop thinking too much nd go for the call .
Maybe they are also willing to talk to you and hang out with you as much as you are.
If you're going for it then
Tip: Be calm, remember the old days and if you're confused what to talk about, ask them how and where they are. Ask them are they pursuing the interests they had back then.
So now CHEERS!! and just go for it
PS. THANKS for reading this Far!!☺️☺️.
I wish you and your loved ones live a wonderful life 🥰🥰🥰

@@Insomniac_Hart Okay, can you like, calm down a little? Not trying to be rude, but you've been posting very rude and disrespectful comments to anyone who has their own theories in this comment section. Which I don't think is fair considering a majority of the Music Videos SIAMES posts are open for theorizing and discussions.

I'm not saying it's wrong to have your own theory, I encourage it, but for those who are enjoying themselves with their own theories and interpretations, don't deserve to be treated unkindly.
If you find a theory you disagree with, just put timestamps of your own evidence and explain it in a nicer manner while sharing your own theory.

Maybe it wasn't your intention to be negative, but many people here find your way of disapproving their theories as rude. Like the comment you posted just now sounds mocking and disrespectful. The person's mistake was already corrected and they already showed embarrassment.

As I said, it's okay to have a theory, but treating others like they are stupid for having their own makes you look like a bad person :(.

Just next time if you disagree with someone, try to be nicer about it and supportive! When others are treated invalid for their thinking it really hinders creativity, specially when the theory doesn't negatively affect anyone else. Have a good day ^^

after watching this several times over the past few years, I've noticed something really interesting, and I think it changes the meaning of the video from one of belonging to one of forgiveness (which very much go hand in hand). when they first enter the building, above the door are four stars, suggesting that there were originally four friends, before they entered the building this time. to the right is a drawing of the four of them titled bffs, but the white haired girl is scribbled out in red. also, at the end of the song when we see the four stars on the window, the lightest one (representing the white haired girl) has a very faint outline behind it, as if there was a star there previously that could not be washed off all the way. my best guess is that something happened and she left the friend group, but has now come back and rediscovered all the good times she had with her friends. despite what happened in the past, your true friends will always accept you and help you find where you belong.

Holy cow

@darriusajogbus1814

I love how people are still finding out stuff about the music video till this day, 4 years after it came out

@vantotem482

the fact that this was pinned must mean that this is the real story behind the mv.

@Grmpf777

Nice catches. Fun thing is, I just noticed the four stars (completely missed the other details though) and was about to skip to another video like "meh maybe it appeared magically like the ones on their body", and then I saw your comment. With all those other details added I'm pretty sure your theory matches the author's intentions.
