Sidney was born in a family of artists. He started singing in TV shows for kids and after that he started at night clubs. The surname "Magal" came during an european travel.
At the 70s he shows up as an singer of "brega" songs, sensuals and romantics ones, shaking up his fans. The first great album was a single with the song "Se Te Agarro Com Outro Te Mato" (If I Catch You Cheating I'll Kill You). Mixing cigans elements, disco music and latin music, he becomes a star in popular TV shows.
He acted in the movie "Amor Latino" (Latin Love) as himself.
The shows are always full of girls, and some times at the end they try to reach Magal and take his clothes off as souvenirs.
He tried to change his image at 90s using jazz and bossa nova with an orchestra.
The best singles are: "Sandra Rosa Madalena", "Meu Sangue Ferve por Você" (My Blood Is Hot For You, in a free translation), "Tenho" (I Got) e "Me Chama que Eu Vou" (Call Me and I'll Go).
Nada Além
Sidney Magal Lyrics

De uma ilusão
Chega bem
É demais para
O meu coração...
Acreditando em tudo
Que o amor
Eu vou vivendo assim
Feliz!
Na ilusão de ser feliz...
Se o amor
Só nos causa
Sofrimento e dor
É melhor
Bem melhor a ilusão
Do amor
Eu não quero e nem peço
Para o meu coração
Nada Além!
De uma linda ilusão...
Acreditando em tudo
Que o amor
Mentindo sempre diz
Eu vou vivendo assim
Feliz!
Na ilusão de ser feliz...
Se o amor
Só nos causa
Sofrimento e dor
É melhor
Bem melhor a ilusão
Do amor
Eu não quero e nem peço
Para o meu coração
Nada Além! Nada Além!
Nada Além!
De uma linda ilusão...
The lyrics of Sidney Magal's Nada Além speak about the power and allure of love and the role of illusion in relationships. The first verse acknowledges that love is nothing but an illusion and that this illusion can be overwhelming for one's heart. Despite this, the singer of the song continues to believe everything that love, which always lies, says. The chorus emphasizes the importance of the illusion of love, describing how it brings happiness and contentment to the singer's life. The second verse acknowledges that love can cause suffering and pain, but the illusion of love is still preferable because it is more beautiful and desirable. The singer ends the song by repeating the chorus, reiterating that they want nothing more from love than a beautiful illusion.
