Signs
Single Mothers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Picese
In the full moon
Change is in the air
She believes in that shit
So I try to care
Try to keep an open mind
Into the crevasses of life
As all my anxieties eat me
Up alive

I'm just trying to find my way
Through life's little maze
I'm just trying to get my shit
Together day by day

Amethyst around her neck
To keep the bad at bay
Doesn't sound too sane to me
I don't want her to change
Try to make the best I can
Out of all this waste
If nothing ever works out
I'm the one to blame

The heart is a stranger
And I'm constantly amazed
How the will to love another
Gets stronger day by day

Swallowed whole and spit out
Crawling out a grave
I don't miss a damn thing
That held me in that place

Change is in the air
Now I try to care

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Single Mothers' song "Signs" depict a sense of skepticism and uncertainty towards the beliefs and practices of a person, most likely a romantic partner, who places faith in astrology and superstitions. The singer, while acknowledging their partner's belief in the power of celestial signs and crystals, struggles to genuinely care or find relevance in these things. Yet, they make an effort to keep an open mind and explore the depths of life, despite their anxieties consuming them.

The song portrays a sense of introspection and personal growth as the singer explores their own journey through life's challenges. They describe themselves as navigating through a maze, seeking to organize and improve their life day by day. The mention of an amethyst necklace is symbolic of their partner's attempt to protect themselves from negative energy, but the singer questions the sanity of such a practice. They strive to make the best of their circumstances, despite the possibility of failure, ultimately taking responsibility for their own actions.

The lyrics also touch upon the theme of resilience and self-discovery. The heart is portrayed as a stranger, constantly surprising the singer with its capacity to love and be loved. The mention of being "swallowed whole and spit out," followed by crawling out of a grave, symbolizes the singer's ability to break free from past struggles or negative experiences. It implies that they have moved on from a toxic or stagnant phase in their life and now acknowledge the importance of change, even if they are still learning to care genuinely.

Overall, "Signs" by Single Mothers captures the internal conflicts and personal growth experienced by the singer, questioning the validity of certain beliefs while searching for their own path in life.

Here are 4 other uncomfortable truths for most single moms:

1. Men will also become more picky with you because they know your standards, expectations, and demands are usually too high, delusional, and unrealistic.

2. Most men don’t want to date or marry single moms, and are wise for staying away. Usually most single moms expect all the emotional and finacial support from a Man, and do not reciprocate. Moreover, they usually do not allow a man to have an equal opportunity at the table or to appropriately discipline her child when it’s applicable and necessary. In other words the man has all the responsibility to provide and to be a protector, but no authority to correct poor behavior in a child when necessary which = slavery.

3. Single moms, If you want to significantly increase your chances of remarrying or finding a healthy loving relationship again—work on your past trauma, heal, and take personal accountability for your past or current poor behaviors. Learn from it and change. Most women are allergic to personal accountability and prefer to point fingers instead. Learn how to say “I’m sorry and please forgive me,” and then take the required steps to change. You’d be amazed how far that goes with men.

4. You are a single mom for a reason. I know it may come across as a surprise and shock to you but unless you are widowed, you probably became a single mom because you played a partial or large role in your divorce. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve met divorced single moms and they say “it was all my ex-husbands fault!” Sorry but us men don’t buy it! We all know you had some poor and toxic behaviors that contributed to your divorce. It ALWAYS ALWAYS takes two to tango, so let’s stop the crocodile tears.

Man that's cold blooded smh ☺️ but in many cases true, unless the little one is all grown up and moved out, or if the dad's not one to be involved in young kids life, well, it cud be different, but now you gotta wonder if the mother is the over bearing type of parent, or if she'll afford the "step dad" true say, it can be difficult, buuuut, so can just two single ass people, who don't wanna settle down, but "try it" anyways, that relationship can get toxic to where you shudnt even raise children in that environment, can't take em away neither tho, shit man, life's tricky 😁☺️🙏📿🤝✊🤙💃🕺🎇🎆
