Still Alive
Sitcom Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What can only be found now?
It can only be found now
Did you find it?
Do you see it?
It can only be found now

As if, as if staring at a gravesite
Till I become a grave sight
Would it make me a still life?
As if I knew what I knew
But I don′t so I do what I do
So I go with the flow till I'm blue
As if the notion to know shit
Could save no one from nothing
As if I make space saved for placelessness
And be pasted into my peaceful bliss
As if I′m displaced in this place
Is it this face?
Within this grin?

As if
How 'bout that
How 'bout that
I′ll walk into the landscape
I won′t come back
How 'bout that
How ′bout that
I'll walk into away

How ′bout
How 'bout
I walk into the distance
Till I become the distance
Would it make me the distance

How ′bout
The still life with old shoes holds truth
Deep in a blue mood with hues of gold Sun views
It's the rearview and the real you that haunt you
Even here too, real soon
I'll walk away into a way of being
Be it, I meant to mean it
Reaching for meaning
But I′ll wake up
I′m still Jacob
With still life and self-love

How 'bout
How ′bout that
How 'bout that
I′ll walk into the landscape
I won't come back
How ′bout that
How 'bout that
I'll walk into away

How ′bout that
How ′bout that
How 'bout that
How ′bout that

How 'bout that
How ′bout that

Overall Meaning

The song Still Alive by Sitcom seems to be about the search for something that can only be found in the present moment. The first few lines suggest that whatever it is that can only be found now is elusive and the singer questions whether others have found it or can see it. The lyrics then delve into the idea of the inevitability of death and the desire to live life to the fullest. The line "As if staring at a gravesite" creates a powerful image of someone contemplating their own mortality. The next few lines speak to the idea of living in the moment, even if we don't fully understand what that means. The repetition of "I go with the flow till I'm blue" suggests that the singer is willing to go along with the moment even if it doesn't make sense to them.

The chorus "How 'bout that, how 'bout that, I'll walk into the landscape, I won't come back, how 'bout that, how 'bout that, I'll walk into away" repeats several times throughout the song and seems to suggest a desire to let go of the past and embrace the present fully. The singer seems willing to embrace uncertainty and leave behind the comfort of what is known to truly experience the present moment. The final lines "I'm still Jacob, with still life and self-love" suggest that even though the singer is willing to embrace the present, they are still themselves and hold onto the things that make them unique.

Overall, the song Still Alive is a thoughtful exploration of the difficulty of living in the present moment and the desire to let go of the past and future to truly experience the present. The lyrics create powerful images of mortality and the fleeting nature of time and suggest a willingness to embrace uncertainty and let go of what is known to truly experience life.

I know the song has its own meaning but like this song makes me sad only because I heard it the night my grandmother died brutally
