After a few former, collaborative rock & metal projects dissipated, Curtis Martin (guitar) Nick Tekampe (vocals) and Ian Collins (guitar) found themselves together again, continuing to try to navigate through what music has become today. The three, unwavering in their determination, efforts & creativity, set out in 2014, following their departure from the military, to produce a sound of their own in a current rock scene deprived of any substance, or originality.
2016 ushered in seasoned drummer Tim Marts as well as bassist Rob Endling, to round out the SixLight lineup.
Now with all the pieces in place, it seems there is a light at the end of the tunnel for these 5, and through continued hard work and determination, they hope to one day be the unstoppable force in Rock Music they all set out to be.
This is SixLight.
Burning Out
Sixlight Lyrics

Light years apart but it's still you and me
Who am i now, I don't know how to reach you in the dark
A broken arrow, empty heart
And a house full of memories are tearing me apart.
When you go i hope you know
I'm burning out x2
I'm burning out x2
I can't let go
I'm burning out x4
We're world away from who we used to be
An empty chair is staring back at me
And i can't hide
From the pain that eats my mind
I can't erase it
Break Through
I'm just as shallow
I dig deep
But it's not as hollow
When you go i hope you know
I'm burning out x2
A light is meant to join this crash
I'm burning out x2
I can't let go
I'm burning out x4
I'll chase you down to the other side
I'll follow you till the end of time
When you go i hope you know x2
I'm burning out x2
When you go i hope you now
I'm burning out x2
A light is meant to join this crash
I'm burning out x2
I can't let go
I'm burning out x4
The lyrics to Sixlight's song "Burning Out" convey the pain of being in a relationship that seems to have outlasted its course. The opening lines "We're shooting stars in different galaxies / Light years apart but it's still you and me" suggest a deep emotional distance between the lovers, but also a hope that they can still find a way to connect. The singer admits that they don't know who they are anymore or how to reach their partner, which leads to feelings of loneliness and despair ("A broken arrow, empty heart / And a house full of memories are tearing me apart").
Despite the pain, the chorus shows the singer's unwillingness to let go of the relationship, even though it's causing them to "burn out." The repeated phrase "I'm burning out" conveys a sense of exhaustion and hopelessness, like the singer is running out of emotional energy. The line "A light is meant to join this crash" implies that the singer and their partner are destined to collide in a fiery end, but also suggests that there's still a chance for them to make things work. The final lines of the chorus ("I can't let go / I'm burning out") show that the singer is trapped in this cycle of pain and longing, unable to move on from their broken relationship.
Overall, the song "Burning Out" is a heartfelt exploration of the pain and confusion that comes from a struggling relationship. The lyrics convey a sense of hopelessness and emotional exhaustion, while also hinting at a possibility for redemption and renewal. The singer's willingness to keep fighting for their love, even as they feel themselves burning out, is a powerful testament to the enduring power of human connection.
